New Carbon Fiber Hood
Got the new hood installed today. Not sure if I'm gonna paint it or leave it. The C/F is great quality and its a 40# savings right off the nose!! I highly recommend this hood for anyone that races and wants a weight savings. Great for road racing and drag racing!!

Nice choice to lighten the hood. I just don't understand Mercedes? They put on aluminum fenders but a sheetmetal hood??? I wished that your CF hood has heat extracting vents.

That is the most sinister, evil looking C63 I've seen... with some potent dyno- and track-proven power to back it up. If it was coming up behind me, I'd get the heck outta the way quickly... lol.

Good to see someone finally made a CF hood. I've replaced many stock hoods and they are HEAVY steel suckers that should've been aluminum from the factory. If it was mine I would paint it body color and say it was a stock steel hood.

Thanks for the comments. It was on in less than 1/2 hour with absolutely NO issues.
We are trying to find a way to add louvers. May have to paint it if we add louvers so not sure.
The hood did come from ebay. Its the Smartplus Auto Parts Ltd. in Hong kong. Ordered it last week and it arrived yesterday. Right at one week delivery which was awesome. The fit and finish are great! I highly recommend it!!

paint it but leave a fade strip across the top about 4 inches so the carbon is still visible
...only negative is you lose the highly engineered crumple zones.
