Nice!! We can't wait to hear how it goes either.

Any specific "easy-going" break-in required? If not, how long until you track- or dyno-test 'em?

We'll probably break it in like we break everything else in.

Hope to thrash it tonight and tomorrow and get some 100 octane added and get it on the dyno late tomorrow or Thursday. We have some other preparations to make prior to the mile run this Sunday in Miami.

Louder, that must be a comment from someone who's heard these monsters with L/T headers and no cats. I guess its perspective. Can they really get louder?? HEHEHEHEHE!

She's alive and well. Here's a few more pics. Gotta get some miles on here before the dyno tomorrow but she feels strong. Will post up some dyno data tomorrow am. Glad she's back together and running smoothly and stronger once again!!

Nothing will have changed except the heads. I am trying to make it a good comparison with no other changes. She pulls consistently between 450 and 455rwhp in the Florida heat with this tune. Extremely rich for making the mile run this weekend. May lean out a little with the head work but thats what we are counting on. We'll all know by tomorrow lunch.

OUCH!!!!!!!! In Ron's defense, his car does have green valve covers and calipers. Looking oh so awesome!!!!

p.s. Not being a smart *** Ron, I really do like the green accents.

Thanks Ben.

We got dyno numbers but they aren't a good comparison. We live in Florida and the weather today was one of the worst days for heat and humidity we've had in a long while. It was the only time we had left before Sunday. Even with the terrible conditions we gained a few horses. I believe when the weather improves we will see significant gains. If you don't live in Florida then you can't understand how conditions affect the power. We are running the mile in Miami Sunday.

As soon as we can get some decent weather we'll get back on the dyno. Sorry for the delay but until the weather improves I can't get a good comparison. Hang in there. It will be worth the wait!!

thats why you have correction factors.

what are the numbers?

I've seen correction factors for the 1/4 mile in dragtimes but not correction factors for heat, humidity, and baro for simply a dyno pull. Where and what is it?

The cost is on the MHP web site.

AH Dad, the correction numbers are BUILT into the dyno my friend. Okay, what I mean is that every 5-10 minutes the dyno operator SHOULD be inputing NEW readings, aka temperature, humidity, barometric pressure.

Well atleast a GOOD operator.

Anyway, hope it works out for you

The correction factor will be right on the dyno printout.

It will either say uncorrected, SAE, or STD.

STD tends to run about 4% higher than SAE, which is the most universally agreed upon correction factor.

How would the correction factor explain the following:

MKB Shorties/ MHP tune consistent dyno pulls ~455 in March 70 Degrees little humidity
Same car same dyno in July 95 degrees 60% humidity ~425

Kleemann K2 dyno in March conditions pulls~435
Same car same dyno in July pulls ~415

Keith's car dropped 30 hp and mine lost 20 comparing March numbers to July with an SAE 1.01 and smoothing set to 5. This on the same dynojet that we have probably made 30 or 40 pulls on. The last several days have been in the mid 90's with 60%+ humidity. So despite the correction factor I expect the 457 that I pulled in July will probably be 470+ in December and Keith's car which pulled 472 in July will be closer to 490.

Couldn't tell you, but its pretty rare for a car to drop 30+ hp, especially when corrected.

Perhaps the timing advance gets overly conservative with higher IATs or maybe the car tends to heat soak really badly.

Were you consistent in your method (i.e. cooldown)?

I hear you on the correction factor but I do know that the temperature, humidity, and baro are all a huge factor on the dyno. If you dyno a car in 50 degree weather it will show more HP than in 95 degree weather. Don't care who's dyno or what kind of dyno you are on. The car pulled 462/415 yesterday in the horrible very heavy air so I am satisfied. With better air/temperature she'll pull much better numbers. Trust me, we'll find out as soon as possible.
