2010 C63 would be the last 63?

It's though to compare 150K$+ AMGs with a cheaply priced c63.
Taking into account the C63 is a company expense for me (I save 30% on income tax by having this expense), the relative cost in CAD$ with premium package is 69K - 30% so 48K. Let's say I keep the car for 4 years, resale value should be around 40K in Canada (remember its supposed to be 80K with sales tax - which I also get refunded) with very low mileage and great shape.
The relative cost to own a C63 for me instead of my keeping my current car (paid for) is 2K a year + extra gas money. I couldn't get a Honda fit for that price if I paid it out of my own pocket.
If a C63 is a bad investment for you, maybe you need to think about how good of an investor you are =)

2009 C63 AMG
I'm in no way a mechanic... BUT
once they release the new engine for the 5.5 with FI, won't that be a big step forward for making an aftermarket twin turbo for the current 6.3 engine?

I agree it might be '12 till we get it. They've been heavily marketing the SLS based on the 63 engine, no way they ditch it after just one year.

Yes, AMG's resale values suck as do all cars that have a regular and a upgrade to a performance model with the same design.
Owning the pinnacle of the AMG series in a NA engine is worth something. The biggest production V8 ever by AMG. There is nothing like a NA engine and you can still make big power from the 6.2 without turbo whine.
If 2010 is indeed the last year of the 6.2l then it will for sure be more valueable.

No disrespect, but that's incorrect.
Just off the top of my head, the 1995 M3 LTW is a great example. Admittedly limited ed., however you won't find a nice one anywhere for under low 30's - nearly 15 years after it left the showroom. The '93 RSA is another good example of a early 90's vehicle that's held it's value extremely well. Oh, and have you ever searched for an early 90's Supra? I have, just for S&G's, and they're far from worthless.

But for the general public addressing realistic wholesale/resale indexes, trying to sell a '95 vehicle is a disappointing affair. Just for argument's sake: drop off a high-volume, high mileage production car from '95 to a CarMax or a used car salesman and see what kind of return you get.
You might find someone who is willing to shell out premiums but those are typically too rare to consider into any realistic evaluation.

fwiw, my 1996 993 is worth more than a used 996 and very close to a used 997.
The MSRP was 72k back in 1996. I can sell it easily for 45k today.
The MSRP on my 2009 E63 was 97k. It might sell for maybe 65k today. If I'm lucky. It's not even a year old.
