.... Look on ebay for some clear or tinted side markers for the front fenders to replace the ugly yellow/orange ones that come on the car. I hope they are not on the Canadian cars because none of the pics in the 2010 C-class brochure have them. I forgot to check it out on the cars on the dealers lot.

Congrats and welcome to the forum.
I would not bet the farm that the 2011 5.5TT car will be a 63 killer. If you look at what happened with the Audi S4 for example, the car has lost some of its appeal, the engine sounds like nothing versus the former V8. It also lacks the low end torque. It is within a few tenths the same performance. Who knows...
However, you are now about 6 months away from the 2011s so I understand your dilemna especially that I am sure they will be plenty of 2010 on the lot to pick from if you dont want the 2011. DO you lose your 10% and sales tax exemption if you were to pick from a US car lot dealer?

I see your setup includes the black maple. Any interior pics available? Specifically the dash and doors?
Thanks for the welcome...glad to be a part of the MB hood.

Yep,
Went this route after providing proof I was authorized. The 10% discount for this car was hard to resist. Providing proof was a stipulation of the German tax authorities from what I understand for any military affiliated individuals not physically in Germany. In addition to TDY orders, had to spend at least one night in a hotel and provide the receipt noting the room number as proof that I was actually there. Don't mess with the tax hounds. Also, with the C63, even though the car may never reach US soil, still had to pay the $2100 US gas guzzler's tax.
Are you considering the military sales? I would recommend the salesman, Mr. Hall; he went out of his way to accommodate me. PM for details, if you're interested.

No, I have my own contacts here in Germany and there is no tax what so ever here in Germany as long as you have military plates, military license and of course military I.D. card. Most people here in Germany that I know of deal with Torpedo Garage military sales in K town (next to Ramstein AB). I believe MB will have to increase their incentives to increase their sales due to last weeks poor financial reports.......

Yeah, I found Torpedo on the web and contacted them first. Took them more than a week to answer an e-mail, so I went looking elsewhere. That was my experience with them. So far with Hall and his crew, it's all good. I expect it to remain that way. About two months plus until delivery.
