As this is my second AMG, the only issue that I had besides eating rear tires :) was a faulty purge valve causing a CEL. The dealers replaced it under warranty issue solved.

Interestingly enough, I also transitioned from a G35 Coupe, albeit a 2006 model. Although I have only had the car for 2 weeks, I can say that my first impression of the vehicle is overwhelmingly positive.
The ride and build quality are rock-solid and in comparison, my G35 felt like a tin can - and that is no exaggeration. The only "problems" I've encountered so far were the electrical gremlins that made my HID and LED installation a PIA. The performance quotient isn't even in the same universe compared with a G35 - I guarantee you will not be disappointed! |
Just be prepared for new rear tires in about 6 months, sooner if you keep your foot barried. ;)

I have had my C63 from new (mid 2009) and it now has 24,000 km on the clock. No real problems to speak of but mine does use a lot of oil (1 litre every 1,500 km) which I am told is within the normal range. We are just getting through the second winter and let me tell you, if you live somewhere hilly - get a second car. The C63 is crap in snow.
I live in Germany and average fuel consumption is almost exactly 15 litre per 100 km which is around 19 mpg imperial and 16 mpg US. Mix of driving is about 70% town and 30% highway (on the highway it is driven as god intended). No other complaints - other than the horrible pop up display - but great great engine. No regrets |
The C63 is built like a tank.
The M3, even though its a great car have had a couple of issues of broken rod bearings, even with bone stock motors. |

In the 6 weeks I've owned my 09 C63 only problem was a faulty purge valve which was replaced under warranty. Would have expected the prior owner to have experienced that problem and already replaced it.
BTW - blipping the throttle in the local drive thru car wash is great fun! The sound reverberates off the walls and sounds bad a$$. :) |
Before I bought, I knew my fuel economy would suck and that maintenance would be expensive, so no surprises there. I am going through rear tires MUCH more quickly than I expected, however. Overall, I LOVE this car as a daily driver, and I have no regrets.

Ok i love the c63 but i have one problem with it if it is true. One review said that when you downshifted you had to go down one gear at a time and wait for each gear to shift down to the next unless you held down the downshift paddle and it would go through each gear down to the lowest possible? is that true

I have a 2009. I'm not sure if the paddle feature has been revised on 10's 11's. Not only that, but my experience is that you really have to be careful of your car's speed taken together with your engine's speed (rpms) because if you're traveling fast enough and you were to drop it into 1st or 2nd, you would be seeing the rev limiter with a quickness. I'm not sure how some of these other transmissions work where you could hold the paddle down and the trans will shift down as far as it could go, but I would imagine there would be some level of safety margin built into the TCU maps to prevent the motor from blowing. |

See, thats what i hate my friends mom has a lexus isf and as you go into a corner you can just hit the paddle a couple of times and it will go to the lowest gear with a limiter to stop you from going to low and blowing the engine. Mercedes needs a transmission like that

In C or S mode if you pull and hold the left paddle shifter the transmission will select the gear suited for optimal acceleration or deceleration automatically. This will shift down one or more gears as required.

The transmisson doesn't upshift till redline in S/Dx mode. Don't remember if that applies to C/Dx as well. I hardly ever drive in C/Dx. |
