I re-used my OEM pads. They were in excellent shape with only 4K miles, most from highway cruising.

If the mileage was higher I would have opted for new OEM pads.

Thank you.

Too many changes to the driveline (LSD, rotors, new tires) to get an accurate dyno result for just the rotors.

Thank you Super for that fantastic write-up. You need to publish a mini book or addenum to the user manual and sell it on Amazon or ebay for mods, DIYs, detailed specs and info. Put me down for one for sure...

I can just imagine your book reports when you were a kid...

Much more worth while than the Reaching for the Stars book...

Thanks Zephyr. I appreciate the kind words. I think my signature should be a forum "Sticky."

Super, as usual, great writeup.

What exactly can they shave off that makes it weigh so much less but be that much better? Since I'm no engineer, these things always make my head spin!

Besides all the technical mumbo-jumbo.. they look great.
If you look at the pics with the rotors on the scales, the friction discs on the used OEM rotor looks noticeably thicker than the brand new evo replacement, while the evo rotor appears to maintain a similar overall width by having a wider vented area. You'd have to throw a caliper or mic on them to be sure, but I'd guess a good bit of the weight savings is there. The rest is coming from the lighter hat. Probably more of the same on the rears.

These appear to be a solid, weight-saving product and deliver the anticipated improvements. $2k sounds expensive for a consumable wear item to me, but high performance brake parts are indeed pricey, regardless of who makes it (brembo, girodisc, stoptech, et al.). Those chasing the nth-degree of performance will likely pony up the cash.

That's why you should've done a before-and-after dyno for each mod. Duh!

Ya...I saw that, too. Hopefully, they can prep the track well and you guys can get in a few runs. Doesn't look very promising, though.

We need to do a full blown track rental soon. No better way to get a ton of runs in. Need to make some calls.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

I ordered my Forgestar Wheels from James@ACGSD. His price was the best and his service is fantastic.

FYI, the OE front floating rotors are $2K (just for the front), so ours represent a real savings of weight and money!

Thanks
Brad

Had no idea the OEM parts were that expensive - thanks for the heads-up. A quick parts.com search confirmed that your rotors are about equal in cost to the OEM rotor replaced in this thread (but much lighter, as superlubricity points out), and indeed cheaper than the floating PP rotor that you mention in your post (IDK what those weigh, however).

Does anyone know the weight savings comparing the OEM vs OEM floating PP rotors? I'd venture a guess that, lightest to heaviest, would be evo, OEM floating, OEM fixed... but that's just a guess.

Your guess is right.

OEM P30 2-piece front rotors are 6-lbs lighter than the OEM solid front rotors. Taken from Simon @ evosport here -> https://mbworld.org/forums/3434358-post24.html

Based on my scale and Simon's note:

evosport 2-piece front, 23.33-lbs
OEM P30 2-piece front, 29.58-lbs (approx.)
OEM 1-piece front, 35.58-lbs

At this time, we do not offer drilled only. There is no performance reason to do so. The rotors work best as slotted only, and we only add the drilled option to the slotted for aesthetic.

thanks
Brad
