I've tried from everyspeed, to beat that f**king thing even when he spins off the line recovers, and I'm up by 4-5 car lengths some how it always seems to blow buy me like I was standing still I'm hopefully going to face him again at the track on the 7th I will revisit this post and fill u in on the results! Just ne carefull of u meet up again with a z06. Best thing about those cars is you can drop it off at vette doctors and 4995 gets u almost 600 whp

I can see that the title to this thread is misleading. Titles are tricky like that, sometimes they work and other times they send the wrong message.
If I could I would change the title to, "I love this car, it's very impressive for a sedan, to me it's a beast."
My last car was a 2010 Camaro and had 100 more rwhp and 100 more rwtq and this car feels as fast or more fast in certain areas.
Every car has a different feel. And for various reasons, the C63 is very fast for being N/A.
I think a big part of it is the transmission. People will say many things about the 7-Speed trans in these 63's but coming from the 6L80E auto trans in the Camaro, man, what a world of difference. Plus, the stall converter in this car really feels like it does a good job, so when it locks up, you get great performance benefits.

No need to spend 1M for about 110K you can get its bigger brother, the ZR1, which is a real monster.

I do look forward to hearing about your next time out at the track.
What's your best 60 ft? And do you use DR's?

Idk about big brother? But I guess everyone has there opinion I believe the fastest zr1 stock Is .2 seconds faster then the fastest stock z06 set by the same guy? I just assumed as we were speaking about stock cars that corvette' z0 and zr were kinda in the same league.. So I'll edit my post

Great story, but it would be even greater to read you raced the corvette on the track... 'cuz reading you've been doing 103mph on the street makes me grind my teeth. Drive safe everyone!!

Well, I understand the OP's race was not perfect but I want to add that in the REAL world, a tuned C63 will either be a little behind a Z06 (even modified) or even a ZR1 and could even be BETTER. It will not get destroyed like the video above where I assume the white C63 was a stock one.
Before I get flamed, here's the proof.
Check out topgunrun.com and you will see that there were 3 C63s. two of them (one of them was mine) were just tuned and the times for the mile run was 168 and 172.
Dad's C63 ran a 181 (heavily modified but no NOS).
There were a lot of Z06s there and a few were heavily modified. Most of them ran from 164mph (stock one, id#69) to 174mph.
There were also 2 stock ZR1 and they both ran 179 meaning Dad's car beat both of them.
I would consider a race very close between the cars therefore depending on who jumps first could mean that the C63 would stay on top depending on the mods you have.

My friends Z06 ran 190 at the Tx Mile. In a real race the difference between a 168 mile car and a 190 car is huge, a busslength.
I am not a Z06 nuthgugger, their interior is crap and they are driven by Mullet men, but they are definately faster than the C63.

I am not saying that a Z06 does not beat a tuned C63 but on the same day at the mile, a stock Z06 ran a 164, 2 tuned C63 ran 168 and 172, two ZR1 ran 179 and a heavily tuned C63 ran 182. That is the bottom line.
Therefore it is a driver's race and the outcome will not always be the same. If you have a tuned C63 and get a decent jump on a stock Z06, I doubt the Z will come ahead especially if he/she is not a good driver and not the right gear.

My previous car was a L99 Camaro with a Kenne Bell 2.8L blower and although that car had power in five out of the six gears, the C63 feels like it has very similar pull when you nail the throttle in 2nd gear above 3000 rpms. That's what suprised me so much about the C63 when I got it, it actually feels like it has boost in the meaty part of the powerband.
I think the stall converter is the main reason for this. Whereas the Camaro had more power, it's transmission had a much less sophisticated and effective torque converter, and so even with more power, the car wasn't making the most use of it.
I know that bringing up the Camaro is off topic but it is interesting that many supercharged fifth generation Camaros run mid to low 12's in th 1/4 mile and similarly that is where stock C63's typically run. And that's with the C63 being at a 100-150 rwhp disadvantage.
Now, these blown Camaro's that run 12's can run in the mid to high 11's with better drivers, traction, track conditions, weather and DA. I bring this point up because although the Z06 can run low 11's in the 1/4 mile stock, I would imagine that more times than not Z06's run much slower than that.
And in my single experience, I don't think the Z06 was being driven at it's peak potential, nevertheless, it takes a pretty quick car to be able to hang with a Z06, even on it's bad day, so that's why I'm pretty impressed with my C63.

I've raced a stock Z06 at the track and really, the top end was pretty similar (60-130mph). He was slightly pulling away on each straight, more even than I thought. Definitely not miles away from our car from my experience... A MHP tuned C63 would pretty much be neck to neck.

I owned a C6 Z06 before the C63 and there is not much, if any comparison between the two ... the Z06 is an absolute monster ... still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it ... although they might be from the fact that it was in for repair 3x in the first 5k miles. Either way, it was one fast car.
Still love the C63 though .. it is a very fun car.

They are also 2 doors and weight much less than our cars...There is really no comparison when comparing C63 vs Z06 starting by the fact that its sedan vs coupe and basically the Z06 weights much less and is more aerodynamic. However, our stock sound kills the Z06s exhaust sound stock vs stock IMHO

Everyone knows I love vettes. The Z is insane. On Long Island there is a meet up pretty much every Sunday and the Vette dudes beat everyone. There is a white one around my area making close to 700whp. He cant beat me because he cant hook up. In every gear at any speed he blips the throttle and goes sideways! lol

Here are a couple of cars that I consider to be fairly fast....the loser ran 206 at the Tx Mile.
The winner now has a less restrictive exhaust and is also able to run more boost than in this vid:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNL9M-W-F24
