Have any of you guys here in Houston removed the secondary cats and had any issues (because of the removal) with the emissions testing? I know they don't do the sniffer anymore, but as long as it doesn't throw any codes, then it should be fine, right?

Also, has anyone done the hi-flow cats up front and had issues with codes? I am debating doing my own exhaust creation with some hi-flow cats up front and x-pipe and different mufflers for the rear, while utilizing the stock tips (AMG tips look awesome IMO).

What part of Houston? I'm near west lake houston, northeast beltway 8.

I'm on the Southside, in League City. It's between Houston and Galveston.

I used to work in League City and go to UH on the same days. 100+miles a day at the least. Good times though. Near South Shore.

I was just in houston this past weekend in my c63, didn't see any other c63. Got my car dyno'd at J Tran Studio.

Was planning on going there also. I've only seen 1 other C63, black with tinted rear lights. What were your results?

J Tran is a good place. I think it is Johnny and Amber over there, right? He did some work on my old Twin Turbo G35 a few years back. Great group of people over there. Only have great things to say about them.

Not in Galveston county, where I live. But I am unsure of how they do actual emissions testing once hooked up to your cars ECU through the diagnostic port. I am guessing the car tells them what it's doing and it has to match the State requirements?

I just don't want to do a bunch of stuff and have my car tattle on me. :smash: LOL

Well this thread started as an exhaust question, but looks like we have something forming here in a meet-and-greet.

We need to make a sorta centralized meeting place.... let's hear some suggestions?

I dislike downtown for their dips at entrance and exit parking lots. When I went to UH with Matrix, I always had trouble, and scraped bumper many times. I went to Aquarium last month in C6

I went to Aquarium last month in C63 and had to choose wisely on entering and exiting lots. Every lot had a huge dip and a super huge dip. Pick your poison and pray it doesn't scrape. Just my opinion. If i was in a Honda or a Toyota, it wouldn't matter.

We need to also find somewhere with a nice background so we can take some photos as well.

I wish I could contribute, but I don't really know Downtown very well. I start looking around and see if I can come up with an idea.

VRAA... that sounds like a good idea. I like that it is at a place we wouldn't get hassled, and it even has a nice grassy area.

Never been to SL town square before, but it sounds nice. We have to make sure wherever we meet, we won't get hassled.

The problem with Sugar Land town square is that you gotta call way in ahead and reserve the place + there aren't that many parking spots (in the square itself)

At least with my office building we own the entire place and building, we can turn it into a bbq too or something

My wife is an amg driver too... and she's interested in the meet up.

I'm not against just meeting up at Otto's BBQ on 59 south of BW 8. It's convenient to my house and lots of parking if you go on an off night.... sunday.

Bet.... I don't mind where we meet, I just think it should be an empty lot for the first meeting, so we don't have to worry about being rushed or the business owners worrying about us taking up spots for their customers.

Also, Sunday nights are hard for us, as we are usually getting the kids ready for the school week. Although, in the summer it won't be a big deal.

I just bought my wife a CLK350 convertible and she loves it. She will probably just ride with me for the first meeting, but if this picks up and we do it more often, she will probably bring hers next time.

I think you meant CLS. He had Renntech headers, exhaust and tune, with carbonio airboxes.

THere was also a cl55 with many mods on the end.

Turnout was unexpected. I was about to take pictures and head out, and we heard some loud exhausts. Jeff, you said 'Here comes the E55' Thought you were joking lol.

My wife loved your wife's white C63, even moreso than my red one. I got mine in red because that was the color of my previous C230K. Janet or was it Tannen? Sorry forgot her name, she's a keeper for sure though!

There is a large meet at M-Power Auto Specialist (a local shop) this saturday October 13, 2012. Quite a few of us AMG guys will be there if you guys would like to come. Here is some info taken from another forum.

I know Ted and Ned quite well...they pinged me about this! They serviced my M3 from the second day I bought it in 2010 and checked out the C63 before I closed the deal. I think it will be a busy night there...and we'll probably have to park on Westheimer! :eek: no doubt there will be some awesome machines on display there....

IMHO we could keep this a "C63 Family Reunion" and look for a spot with an outdoor patio overlooking/adjacent a Car park. The weather has cooled down (even for this island boy)...so we won't overheat. Beyond this first Beer and Brag...I'm hoping a few of you may be interested in going to one of the days of the Texas Mile (Oct 26-28). I've not been to the Beeville location but I've been to the Goliad county event.

Evs motors installed my springs for 500ish with alignment, but I would personally try sports cars repair on Starlane. Talk to Troy he owns an E55 and is way more knowledgable than evs. He's quoted me dirt cheap prices on other mods. Mgbrillo will u be able to join us?

I bought mine in houston 2 weeks ago, white stock no P30. Lady owner :). But the car is badged with RENNtech! Don't know exactly what was done on it. When i called MB Sugarland they just told me it has stage 2 but i don't see any carbon fiber under the hood :nix:.
I'm often in houston like this week end for example but i will be driving my wife's CX-9. Will have some window tint done and a trip to ikea as well :D

We will probably need to find a new location. Even though the mall cop was very nice (and gave us a great review on our manners) it apparently is frowned upon by that shopping area/property management group.

Depending on time/dates(weekly/monthly) we could meet at a place that serves food/beverages.

I have a place in mind. The shopping center at my parents' donut shop in spring. Has big open parking lot. We can use that one day.

P.S. We have tables and free donuts, kolaches, and coffee. :) And if anyone plays Magic I'm always up for a game.

you might not have seen, but don't bash me. I have JL Motoring's CF DTM diffuser. So, I beg your pardon!!! :) I'm CF in style, front and back. I'm the white in the middle, next to the BS. Maybe the pics don't do it justice, but it's there.

oh, i see. jdubya didn't get a rear shot of my car. it's the only one that didn't get an ass shot.

Yeah, I'm glad I could help. I assume it was an easy tear down, repaint, and install? Glad I could show you how easy it was and I did get mine clipped back in.

ya getting it out was fairly easy, I then wanted to remove the chrome trim pieces but it I felt like I was going to break all the tabs etc. I just went ahead and masked off the grill/perforated area of the grill, quick wipe w/ some denatured alcohol, and then all the plastidip my heart desired.

I let it sit overnight, so I'm going to pull the masking and reinstall it tonight. Hopefully the results are fairly good.

You were smart to not try. And glad you didn't. you would have ben unhappy, as you would have ruined your grille. And yes, the tabs would have broken. don't ask me how I know. I do not want to admit to such a dumb mistake on a previous grille.

finished up the plastidip fun, there were some mistakes so i ended up taking the plastidip off the star. I like it but may cover it up eventually.

There is, but nothing beats the OEM. They might quote you for less since yours has cf mirrors from factory. Houston North quoted me $6k for the pair.:confused:

i checked with sugerland and they wanted 6000.00 for the covers and turn signel which come together surely someone makes an aftermarketcover that would work

The funny thing is it's only $800 if you ordered it with the car. But during 2010 MBAMG didn't update all their options on the site. You had to manually enter the codes when ordering with the sales rep. Revosport has a pair for about $1k. Looks pretty good, but I always like OEM.

I like spine's suggestion, I dont know if I can make it this weekend (going to be in dallas). Either way it seems that somewhere near the galleria area is a good middle ground as most of us are located either in the heights or SG.

Just as a general heads-up, I can only meet the 3rd weekend of every month. I know that I am "technically" not a Houston C63, as I live in Austin, so you guys can do as you wish. However, I did enjoy meeting with you guys and would like to continue to do so. I can try to make it at other times, but I need some advanced warning/planning to do so. It IS guaranteed that I am in Houston EVERY 3rd weekend. I'd love to stay connected.

Nov 18th weekend is Formula One. That event is once a year - a first time for TX, hell a first time for US in a long time.

Well, some of us are not going to F1, so I say we meet, no matter the size of the group. And we will meet again in the future. There are many days to come in this world, for all of us. I will be in Houston and would love to meet. I'd hate to miss an opportunity.

I have already contacted him. Granted it was weeks ago, before he took delivery of it. He seemed, kind of middle of the road. I invited him and even tried to hook up with him here in town. I would love it if he met me here, wanted to come to our meetings, or even caravan to Houston behind(or should I say in front of) me. I PM'd him before, not sure if he checks this thread regularly, but will try again.

P.S.- It is probably a stupid decision, but I decided to pass on getting a BS. I am still fighting the urge, but I really shouldn't. Although, I feel it's now or never, as far as wanting to have a "collectible" car. Getting one of the first series, such as your car, will be the only way it will be truly a special car.

I'm fine, I got ran off the road on Old spanish trail by some guy who had been cut off by two EMS cars. hit a tree and drove over a sheared lamp post...waiting to see what insurance has to say.

New to forum and Mercedes, just bought two a 2013 C63 BS and a 2013 SLK55, not two many of both where I live, would like to meet and visit some owners of C63 and see the changes you have made.

I bought them both at Greenway of Houston, I got the SLK first and went back one week later to have lojack installed and Jim said he has a c63bs and did I want it, looked at it and just had to buy it, I would like to me the group but right now in Nigera till Dec13th working, Everybody have a great Thanksgiving with family and friends,

White slk55 and black c63 bs ,saw both cars there and you did good!!!! What a way to start your AMG experience !!!!!! Sorry to here not being abel to enjoy them till 12 13. Where looking to get the c63 group together sometime in jan . maybe then.!

The white one is still there, dont really like lite colors, the slk is steel gray, would to meet with group, I am home only26 days at a time and gone 30, Still don't know what the cars will do, had the slk for two weeks and ths c63 one week and a few days, I will watch the tread for dates, till then.

check out the Audi RS4. I came REAL close before I stumbled upon my beauty!!

An Audi RS4 will be at least 4 is not 5 year old. Yep, limited numbers and only on 2007 and 2008.

That had been top of my list until about 2011.

Now, all examples are high miles and low mileage if any, will be 2008 - most likely not a CPO and in 50s. You can get a 2010 C63 with low miles for that money.. I wouldn't Look at RS4.

Now, if you meant RS5, then be ready to shell out 80grand. It's probably worth it and a good buy if you have to have AWD. Otherwise M3 coupe/sedan - C63 coupe/sedan - CTS-V coupe/sedan all are great choices. But no way in hell Is a 5 yr old RS4.

Yes, my apologies. My fast/fat finger hit 4 instead of 5. Those cars are BEAST'S!!!!! I still love my C63, but I'd give it a good hard look.
