some new work done
hey guys! im getting some work done on my car soon. on the list is blacking out my car (emblems & chrome). my question is has anyone tried chrome black? i went to my local dealer for a wash and checked out all the cars. this c300 had everything blacked out. at that time i didnt know it was gloss black i asked them if they have samples and showed me chrome black, gloss black, and matte black emblems. the place im getting it done can do this. my other question is how good will it look on the chrome trim on the outside of our car? it looked good on emblems but the c300 didnt have it on the trim

Black chrome would look pretty cool, I think they just lightly spray the emblems with black paint to keep the shine of the chrome while having a darker finish.
My vote would go for either gloss black or matte black. Call a local body shop and see of they can do it for you.

You can have the window trim done in real black chrome or black anodized as they are metal. Unfortunately the front grill pieces and emblems are all plastic and therefore cannot be chromed. You'll have to find some gloss black wrap tape or "chrome" paint.

its only gonna be the emblems, window trim, and fog lights. my grill is staying carbon

3M makes a gloss black wrap tape 3" width that should work for everthing your going to do excluding the emblems, it's not too expensive ($35 a roll) and it's an easy DYI. I did mine in matte black (sort of a low sheen but not completely flat). The rear emblems I haven't tried yet. Those maybe a bit more tricky given all the shapes. I'm still looking from someone that sells them already blacked out esp the star. Fog lamps don't look that difficult if you can pop the chrome covers off. I may try those next.
