Rumor Mill: Tuning future C63's
I'm not 100% clear... However I'll try to share what I've heard. Most or some poeple know that the Mercedes some 55's, and all 63 NA's are flashed using a tool that probes ports directly on the ECU's circuit. Simpy meaning The tuner pops open the ECU to expose the board. Then uses a tool align the probes to certain points on the ECU's circuit board. Granting a back way into the ECU to upload your tuned map tot he ECU. I guess it tunes out new C63's Or future 63's that have the NA motor. Are coming with ECU's that no longer have ports for this tool to use. I'm not sure if the ports or probe area is shut off or non-existent, but it looks like Mercedes On new 63NA's will have the back door locked. Meaning you have to go in from the front door (wiring harness end).
In most cases, once you go in from the back door of the ECU, you can unlock the front door. Allowing you to use remote flash devices or future flashing from the OBDII port. We If there is no longer a back door to gain entry into the ECU... How do you unlock the front door to the ECU?
From what I understand, there is no way to load the FIRST FLASH of the ECU from the harness end or via OBDII. That first flash has to be done by uploading the file from circuit board. Again after that first flash thats when you gain access to flashing from the OBDII port.
Now if there is no ports to flash your first tune and the front door is locked. What do you do? No tuning?
If this rumor turns out to me true and some of you wanted to get into a newer C63 or maybe even the C63 Black Series. It would be a good Idea to call your tuner to see if its something that they can tune. Before you buy a car that.
I know I would think long and hard over buying a performance car I can't mod. Or at least flash.
Also, I have no idea when this newer ECU comes out or if its already out. Or if it will come out. Its just a rumor at this point. So I thought I would share with you guys.

I remember when 128 bit cyphers were unbreakable. Until they weren't.
If the dealer can flash the ECU, it will take about 30 minutes before the secret of their device is out.

I kind of agree, Some geek will crack the code or find a way in even if its from the front door the front door. My guess is someone will mod the dealer/Mercedes software they use.
It didn't take that young kid years ago to unlock the first iphone.

Can't wait for them to figure how to direct flash through the OBD2 port so you can flash back and forth as needed (with no flash counters).

I remember when the R35 GT-R came out... it was hailed as being practically untunable. Initially, tuners couldn't even swap wheels without the car going into limp mode (or some equivalent).
Fast forward to today... and it's one of the most heavily tuned and modified platforms on the market.
Wherever there's a large enough demand, some enterprising companies will find a way to satisfy it. Do you really think Brabus would be unable to tune a 2012 C63 BS? I don't.
