WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

Due to some financial setbacks (tenant thrashed my rental, motor on my M3 blew up, cannot cash out stock, etc) I decided a few weeks ago to put up my beloved C63 for sale: https://mbworld.org/forums/mercedes-...s-c63-amg.html

I would still have my 800 rwhp GT2, the money to finish repairs on my M3, and I would just do the responsible thing and daily the E350.

Surprisingly, the C63 did not sell (the best offer was $49K). My bottom line was 51K.

Today, I got an email from my local MB dealer saying they were looking for cars. I went in and they offered me 48K.

I negotiated 49.5. Yes, it was 1.5 k short of my bottom line, but I would get $3K towards the taxes on my next purchase.

The only catch is, I definitely do not need another car. My hope is that can get my wife to give up her car, a Kia Sorento (the E350 was originally for her but she won't drive it since the accident....which is why I can't sell it, although it runs perfectly). I am hoping she comes to her senses and decides to drive the E350 before the year is up.

I think I am doing the responsible thing...but dang, I really love the C63

Sorry to hear your letting go of the car.
Good thing you have a 800HP monster on back up.

Steel Grey Metallic C63!!
Wouldn't it make more sense to keep your 2010 C63 and sell the accident e350? Since you're planning on trading it into the dealership anyway, you should be able to negotiate away the accident. That way your wife won't have a phobia towards the new car or the c63.

I would only get about $25K for the E350, even though it was repaired flawlessly.

Yes....it failed emissions, and I tried for 2 months to get help from the A hole who tuned it, but she blew first. I have already spent 20K replacing the motor and harnesses, but now she needs a new (stock) fuel system.

Really sorry to hear that. When it rains it pours. I'm sure it will all work out soon. On a side note can you tell me a bit more about the M3 engine failure? I was thinking about picking one up for a fun little track car and was obviously going to do an SC but when I hear stories like this I just cringe. Please PM me if you wish to keep it private.

My Car made 644 rwhp (SAE adjusted 585). Just get a proven stage one kit (Active Autoworks or some proven company) and don't get greedy w/ the HP.

Sounds like fun while it lasted. Dare I ask which kit? I'm just puzzled since there are more than a few ESS VT625+ kits running around with massive boost on the stock bottom end. Was this perhaps just a tuning issue?

It was a custom build from Bavarian Hyper Sports (now out of business).

It was the fastest SC E46 around for some time.

Were you running stock internals with the SC kit?

Traded it in today on.....And Equus. This car is amazing, its interior matches the Lexus LS469/MBS550. The Merc S has a bit better ride (not more comfortable, but a touch less body roll) but I am blown away that Hyundai is making such an amazing car.

I got $49K for the 2010 C63 (well optioned w/ 14317 on the OD) and $26.5K for the 2009 E350 (20093 on the OD).

The E350 was in a serious crash, frame damage, however the repairs were excellent and w/ out a paint gauge it would be almost impossible to tell she had been in a major accident.

I got a very good deal on the Equus. The Equus Signature MSRPs for $58.9K (the Ultimate, which has 2 high tech reclining rear seats, a refrigerate goes for $64K. and most go for MSRP....the regular rear seats are better for my 4 year old son and I don't need a refrigerator in my car).

The car I got was a demo driven by the CFO of the company, it had 1800 miles on the OD. It also had a color combo I love, Pearl white w/ cashmere interior.

I negotiated almost $5K off, and got her for $54K.

It rivals an S class Merc, 7 series Beemer, and Lexus 460. I am blown away at how nice this car is (leather everywhere, dash etc, Alcantara headliner) especially for the money.

I'm so glad you get to keep the GT2 That car is worth putting up a financial fight for IMO.
