**** C63 AT SUMMIT POINT **** VIDEO ****
The GT500 was in the shop getting headers and a new supercharger, so I had to take the C63 to Summit Point for the first time. Videos are below. Its performance exceeded my expectations.

Nice vids. How does it compare to your gt500? I'm thinking about getting a 2011 gt500, but worried that I won't be happy with the power compared to a tuned c63.

Looks like alot of fun! Thanks for the videos.
What kind of headers are you getting on the GT500? |

Summit Point is my nearest track, and I'm planning to go there as soon as I can find time, so it's great to see this video. Looks like a decent track. Thanks. :)

A Tune will gain a lot of power on the C63 but also a tune will gain even more on a GT500 specially whenever you raise the boost 1 or 2 PSI. On a recent comparo the GT500 trapped 119 mph, that is an average of about 5 mph than a C63 AMG with a similar weight too. I simply find your comment or observation funny, mainly because I don't agree with what you are saying. My .2c |
Awesome video! :zoom: :y

At the risk of getting flamed on this forum, the C63 performed very well but was not nearly as much fun or as powerful or as well-handling as my modified GT500. I would be very surprised if you were disappointed with the power in a 2011 GT500, even in stock form.
American Racing 1 7/8" Long-Tube Headers with high-flow catted X-Pipe Good videos by the way. I seen a fast black Evo X on the video, it clearly seesm as if it had a bigger turbo. |

Not trying to argue with you on this one but please go and check the specs on a GT500, it is a 550hp/510lb-tq car to begin with (about 100 hp more than the C63 AMG, 70lbtq).

^^ No sir. If you read the second part of the comment:
"but worried that I won't be happy with the power compared to a tuned c63" ^^ This tells me that the perception is that the GT500 wouldn't be in par with the C63 and that is not true. A recnt test/comparo put the GT500 in the low 12 sec 119mph, that is better than any test ever on a C63. Why questioning the power outputs when the GT500 is already superior? This is a basic principle. Either you are aware and familiar with the power outputs or either car or you don't. The GT500 is vastly more powerfull than a C63 out of the box, even more when you do simple mods. my .2c |

A stock gt500 with a similar trap has trouble putting power down. I feel as though the top end on our cars with just a tune is pretty strong compared to an american muscle car with revs to 6100 and has the aerodynamics of a brick. I love the c63, But I'm itching to get back into a 6mt. I would get a z06, But like the practical look and feel of a gt500. I would love to see a pulley/tune gt500 vs a c63 w/ headers in a real world situation. Anyways sorry for stealing your thread. |
^^ I believe that the GT500 is a solid rear axle, it gets plenty of wheelhop.

nice videos mate!

It's alright, some ppl simply know jack. I mean, this is the C63 forum, I'm not expecting much. A stock GT500 would have little trouble keeping up with our cars - probably doesn't even matter if we're tuned or not. And despite that log of an axle in the rear, it'll most likely handle better on the track too and it probably should seeing that it was designed for it. |

That's an ignorant statement. Considering most of us are car enthusiast. I'm also on the svt forums and have been following the gt500's since it release. I've never driven the 2010+ gt500's only 2009 and was asking the OP since he owns both 2010 gt500 and c63 what he thought.
Not trying to sound like a dick but it was your comment that I found to be rather ignorant. |

You're a car enthusiast? I wouldn't know based on your initial comment that you'd somehow be "disappointed" with the power of a stock GT500. Either that comment was sarcasm on your part or you, being a car enthusiast, didn't know that, just based on numbers, a GT500 is packing more power & performance than a stock C63. And now you want to pull the "but in real world situations, etc etc." line but cold hard #s are there and I'm sure you're well aware of them. Sure, #s aren't everything but they're a good indication of what to expect.
Not trying to sound like a dick but it was your comment that I found to be rather ignorant. Clearly this has you on a personal level, I'm only setting the record straight for those who may have misinterpreted what I meant. You said "a GT500 is packing more power & performance than a stock C63." If you can read I clearly said vs a tuned c63. They are close enough in performance, numbers, and weight. Which leaves aerodynamics, gearing, and top end. Which is why I asked the OP if I'd be happy with the power. If you wanna keep twisting words around and viewing things in a pessimistic light, then don't even bother responding. Usually when somebody says I'm "Not trying to sound like a dick" um well you get the point... |

Usually when somebody says I'm "Not trying to sound like a dick" um well you get the point... They're your words, not mine. I don't see how anyone can misinterpret them - not me, not C63newdude, not the OP, nope, no one. A tuned vs. not tuned C63 is splitting hairs, you're really grasping at straws - and before you ask, yes, mine is "tuned." Its not like tuning our cars turns them into magical 700-HP beasts. And even if it did, our cars would still be overwhelmed at the track (I'm talking about a real racecourse with turns) by a GT500. How can you honestly say that if a stock GT500 is indeed "close enough" in performance, etc. that you wouldn't be happy with the power compared to our own cars? Seriously, it's like a non-question. |

If it's such a rhetorical question yen why did you ask it?
See what I mean? I'm not expecting much and, once again, you've proven my point. Thanks |
