IT'S HERE!!!!

The moment i've been waiting for over a year has now come to an end. It finally arrived. Took it out for a spin today and then returned it to the dealer. They're gonna break it in and then i take over after the winter. No point in owning it during a harsh winter anyway. However, here are some pics i took today :) Hope you enjoy. My timetable was a bit short so i did it in a hurry. More pics coming later in a few weeks...

Love it!!

Jycke Sep 7, 2011 03:04 PM

Thank you :) Now to find some winter rims...maybe HRE although it seems like a gigantic waste to put on for winter.

Flash1 Sep 7, 2011 03:10 PM

That looks awesome. I love the white.

I wish the leather dash was available in the US.

hyperion667 Sep 7, 2011 03:12 PM

why is the dealer breaking it in? I am missing something..........:nix:

Jycke Sep 7, 2011 03:20 PM

Because the dealership is gonna use it as a demonstration vehicle over the winter to carve off some $, which is much appreciated here in the cold, expensive north of Europe. I don't wanna drive it during the winter anyway, so it might as well stay there and devaluate and then i eventually buy it cheaper. I did however choose all the options, color etc etc to it, so it's a good deal. If it would cost 70000 $ here too, i'd take it straight away. It doesn not however so i have to think smart. Oh how i yearn to take it straight away but it would be expensive.

enochroot Sep 7, 2011 03:24 PM

Jycke, she is absolutely gorgeous.
Congratulations! :D

hyperion667 Sep 7, 2011 03:25 PM

hmmm.......
I see......that is interesting to me........

I have an amg too, and would not want a bunch of 'people' breaking my car in, but I see what you're saying from a financial sense...I guess......
but the break in is part of the ownership, part of creating a bond between you and your new car.......not the public.........

just seems sad you know?
but at least you do get it eventually huh?

And to me as well

Congratulations... I guess :nix:

MicheleC Sep 7, 2011 03:32 PM

Jycke, would you have a photo of the front seats?

Jycke Sep 7, 2011 04:03 PM

Well it's not a "bunch" of people. They have two guys who do this at mercedes over here and they break it in gently. After that it will stay in a showroom with locked doors over the winter with nobody driving it.
Anyhow, i don't mind the wait. I enjoyed our first drive together today and when they've broken her in i'm gonna drive a weekend. Then it's just a long wait until spring. It should have around 4000 km when i get it (2000 by me...). Sorry, no pics from of the front seats :( I was in a hurry and must've forgotten.

hyperion667 Sep 7, 2011 04:04 PM

don't forget to have them change the rear diff oil on their dollar right??

Roswell Sep 7, 2011 04:12 PM

Interesting scenario... you dont want to drive the car in winter, but is looking for HRE winter rims for your winter tires? You should let the dealer put winters on if they are going to test drive it during the winter as a demo, no?

Congratulations nonetheless, how much more will you save at the end? And what are the chance someone pays/buys it before you do?

nlpamg Sep 7, 2011 04:13 PM

beautiful, congrats!

So basically you are taking pictures of a car that belongs to the dealership that you plan on becoming the owner of eventually?

In that case, please say hello to the newest addition in my family. She will be mine in about 6 years once the dealership has sold it and has changed hands a couple of times...

Chance is zero because we already have a contract. this is purely done thanks to contacts. Saving is around 50k € (which is more than a new one over there). And Wankeldude, no, it's not the same thing since this already is a done deal. I ordered it but got a good deal this way. If you wanna be a wankerdude, be my guest.

BAD430BENZ Sep 7, 2011 04:56 PM

no matter what has to be done.........the car is yours and congrats !

that thing is awesome :y

First you say they want to use it for a demonstrator, then you say it's not going to be driven. Which is it?

I know some people that freak out if the new car they just bought has more than 20 kms on it. If you are buying a demonstrator, realize that it will get *****kicked end of story.

Break it in gently? yeah I'm sure.
