I would pass since from given your driving experience, you felt it wasn't worth it. Also, the fact that it's a lease, why get something you don't really want and pay extra for it and not be able to keep it anyway.

I came to the conclusion over the past few years that if you are spending $70k plus on a car that you should get it exactly how you want it. If you can afford a car like this (and I mean really afford it and not have to eat KD every night to make the payments) then the cost of options like this should not be the deciding factor.
If you really don't care about the option then don't spend the money. If you are unsure or do think you would like it... just get it. If you don't you will just end up wishing you had.

2008 Saab 93 TurboX SC (BSR stage 1)/2014 E63 S Wagon (Rebellion Tuned/Renntech Sport Mufflers)
I would say "get it"! That way you wont regret it in a couple of months... I like having the "ultimate" factory car out there... But that's just me! I bought a Saab 93 Wagon as a winter car and got the TurboX, the "ultimate" factory car from Saab... that way I can sleep at night!! LOL

I hate this thread.. making me 2nd guess my build without P31... The wait was going to be 3 months longer.. I still can't decide and my current car should be docking in jacksonville tomorrow..
6k is still a lot, but 75 a month doesn't seem to be that much more .. i think you should get it..

Miserly mpg, exhibitionist torque (i.e. Q5 TDI)
Be brutally honest with yourself. If deep within the reptilian part of your brain you want it, even if you can't quite explain why, get it. If you're not sure if you want it, then you don't want it and you won't miss it.
Fwiw, I skipped it and have zero regrets. This car is already ludicrously fast even without the extra kit.

Basically what I'm saying is if cost is an issue to you, skip the P31 and you won't regret it one bit.

What i said is that in my opinion, I did not think the P31 was worth the $6K MB arging - not based n the value of the parts, but what I personally believe he cost-benefit analysis to be. I do not believe it increases the performance envelope of a non P31 by a large enough margin to warrant the cost. It is because of this that it is my personal opinion that the package price is inflated - if I presented that opinion as an absolute fact, then that's my mistake but it wasn't my intention...I am speaking in purely subjective terms when I say that the P31 is not worth the money...as in my perceived value of the package not aligning with what I perceive to be the benefits.
My point of saying that the same or similar parts could be had aftermarket was that, again, in my opinion, similar performance could be had for significantly less than $6K.

I went with what my salesman told me. "It's not worth it, the brake replacement alone will kill you later". But I wish I got the Limited Slip.

I am speculating here, but I wonder if P31 and non-P31 exhausts sound pretty much the same. I had been watching YouTube videos of both all day, and can't come to the clear conclusion. So much is influenced by the temperature and recording, it is hard to be objective. What we do know is that the exhaust sounds on the C63 is driven more by the exhaust, and since the exhaust on P31 and non P31 machines are the same, I would venture to guess that they sound the same as well.
Thoughts? Advice?
I am still struggling with the P31 and Non-P31 decision. I don't really care for most of the P31 bits, but if it makes the Engine/Exhaust sound any better, I am in...

Depends on what you want to do with the car. Is it a showpiece? Daily driver? Track toy?
For my purposes, I opted not to get it since I know I will be spending money on mods down the road.
Either car will be a blast to drive. Most of us will not even feel the performance diference. The discriminator are the brakes and CF bits, and it's up to you if those are worth it.
Goodluck on a nice dilemma to have. LOL.

Don't do it. Save yourself, your car, and your pocket book.
Go all aftermarket, (most dealers will honor warranty) and turn it into a beast, instead of a solid machine.
There is so much more to gain outside MBUSA.
