First look BMW M3 2013
http://www.roadandtrack.com/future-c...bmw-m3/gallery
What do you think of the new styling compared to the updated c63. I'm speculating MB will not come out of a new design of the C class until at least two years from now. My first impression is BMW appears to be shying away from that aggressive exterior design that I really love of the M3's and the interior appears bland, nothing exciting about it. I hope torque numbers increase to come close to our cars. |
Not too impressed to be honest.

The first 6 pictures are of a regular 3 series...only picture #7 is a "rendering" of what the M3 might look like. Just traded in my M3 for my C63C and the C63 is much more fresh and modern, but the base of the E90 M3 design was already 7 or 8 years old. I'm sure the new M3 will be nice.

Yeah, thats the regular 3er. The M3 hasn't been revealed yet. Here are some spy shots, and a render. If it's anything like the render, im buying one.

Damn, those renders are sweet.

Those renderings are awesome...but i think they're pipe dreams....
Look at the new 5 series and you will get all the stylin cues.... Since the M5 is pretty lame, i'm thinkin the 3 will follow suit |
Hell yeah those renders are crazy. Especially those rear fenders!
|
Those pictures are just guesses... no one has seen the next M3. From all reports, it won't be available in North America until sometime around 2014 and my dealer actually said the coupe may not show up until early 2015. Timing aside, it is a ways off (don't forget they take a year off between the release of the 3 series coupe and the M3).
I'm not a big fan of the next gen styling of the 3 series but I reserve judgement as I didn't like the E9X M3 either at first (now I love it). The renderings of the next C class also leave something to be desired IMO. Let's all hope MB and BMW get it right. If the M3 renderings prove accurate, it will be gorgeous. MB really needs to widen the C63 in the rear like the M3 renderings if for no reason other than WIDER TIRES! I suspect performance (acceleration) will be on par with the current C63 and the torque will be close too... via a turbo. MB seems to be getting very serious relative to being REAL competition for the M3 and I would bet money that the next C63 steps up its game and is at least as competitive, if not better, than the next M3. The best part of this is everyone wins as one or both of the cars will be amazing. |
The new M3 will not look anything like the rendered ones.

But the camo'd test mules have the big bad-ass flared fenders. I think that makes the renderings seem a little more credible.

But like you said...bottom line is that we'll all have at least 2 great cars to choose from again. That's exciting. Only the fanboys will mourn the good old days (prior to 2008) when the M3 was clearly the "only" choice. |
I just don't like how the hood looks on the new 3 er's. I think it just looks fugly how the front of the hood doesn't go down farther like the old ones.

That looks really bad compared to last year's model.

BMW has lost it's way. I never thought the day would come but after 10+ years of driving BMW's, I was done with the horrible cheap quality in the M3 after I sat inside the C63 AMG Coupe.I'm not buying anything from ///Marketing.

The renderings Walter posted are
|
Ditto on the renderings being likely accurate. Don't see anything too at fetched there really, maybe the wheel/tire setup is a bit aggressive for a factory car, even an M, but I bet this is pretty close.
