stuck fuel injector. other issues?
I gave my car to my older brother for a few months. (figured it was nice he really likes the car)
Anyway Saturday while driving the check engine light comes on and car starts running horrible, rough with smoke dumping out the exhaust and what he claims is raw fuel coming out the exhaust. He drives the car back to his house probably a couple of miles.
Monday he's bringing it to Mercedes but it won't start he says it cranked but was very slow like the battery was dead and sounded like the starter motor skipped a few teeth. Mercedes road sides assistance also tried to start the car. no go. Towed to the dealer. Dealer also tried to start the car. no go. Same sounds as above.
After looking at it they determine a fuel injector was stuck wide open and in the process of trying to start it has hydro locked that cylinder. So the question is do you guys think the starter motor has enough power to cause internal damage to the engine? Is it powerful enough to force the piston in contact with the valves? Powerful enough to break what I assume are forged metal internals? Should be no right?
Car is an 09 with 46k miles and is fully covered under warranty. I have a new car showing up in about 17 days the C63 is my trade in if they have to tear down the engine or even replace it I'm worried it won't be ready when my new car shows up.
So again the starter can't have enough power to cause any damage right? Should just need a new injector / oil change and be on its way?
Currently the dealer is waiting to hear from AMG to see what the next step should be. This is news to me but again this is all info through my brother I've tried to call but can't get ahold of the service advisor and he doesn't seem to be calling me back.

There is a post in another thread (I forget it off the top of my head), caused by a different issue (coolant thread maybe.. ), but also resulted in a hydrolocked engine. According to that post, took about 10 days, and they replaced a crap ton of parts.. so assuming they have the parts, figure at least 10 days...

so it was 2 injectors. talked to the dealer seems like the heads are comming off today to look for bent parts. If nothing is bent new fuel rails with all new injectors and will be all set for friday. they did say there is a new part number for the fuel rail. if things are found to be worse they are not sure what eta will be.
lots of problems for a cheap part failing.

car is still in pieces. Mercedes corp wants the dealer to get the car in a running condition then do a compression check. results of that test will determine what the next step is.

Man what's with all the M156's having issues these days? I know it's probably a tiny percentage of how many are out there without issues, but still disconcerting.

the car is up and running doesn't look like any internal damage. fuel rails, injectors, plugs, primary cats, and an oil change. My brother still has the car but says it's running fine with no loss of power or terrible noises. They are mailing me the paper work with the results of the compression tests.
really only need it to last a few weeks new car should be here by then but I assume it's 100% fine at this point.

Good to hear it is all right. But tell your brother if there is raw fuel coming of the exhaust, the preferred procedure is to STOP and turn the car OFF. Jalopnik would like nothing better than to post video of a C63 doing an impression of a Ferrari!

Could be seized Catalytic Converters. That was a LOT of fuel to run through the system and I bet that once it fired up again clearing the excess fuel in the exhaust killed at least 1 side if not both.
