Tire Guru's I need your help ASAP please!
My ADV wheels will be here any minute.. And the recommended tire size is 245/30/20 and 285/25/20
Is this correct? I have heard some local people telling the height is not matching and telling me that it is not the correct size.. Yet i see most c63 on 20" with this size..
Please help!
Wheels are:
20x8.5
20x10
The offsets are ET39 and ET51
Thanks so much guys!

The stock rears are +54 on the C63 so +51 should fit fine.
And to the OP, use this tool here:

MBWorld Fanatic!
I know guys running Pirelli Nero's in those sizes on 20's.
Personally I would stick with 235's in the front and 275's in the rear, just to be in the safe side.

The front should be fine, but the 285 rear will rub with +51mm offset. You need at least +55mm to pull it off. So I agree with above, go 275.

Effect of offsets are not static...it changes with wheel width...so the 10" ET51 actually sticks out 15mm more then stock...not 3mm like many on the forum think. 1" width is equal to an additional 12 in offset.
You will rub with a 285 on a 51 offset.
I think the tolerences are VERY tight with any 285 on a 10" wheel with this car because if you go a bit higher on offset (like maybe 56) you run the risk of rubbing on the inside.
All this is from what I have read on the forums. My wheels are still 4 weeks away so I have no actual personal experience, but have read every thread on here about offsets before ordering my wheels.

Front, P235/30R20
Rear, P275/25R20
Check with Steve. *** ya nevermind, your right about the 275
Well go with the 285 & don't lower it, or if it's coil overs then just a bit

Tire equivalency table...
http://www.pneuradial.com/equivalence
Input your stock 19" size, front is 235/35/19 & you can see the +/- difference, yes, 285/25/20 out back is good, but....

Then as I posted earlier,
Fr: 235/30/20
Rr: 275/25/20
The 285 in the rear would be overall .197" or 5mm taller than the 275, 1/2 of that on the radius or profile & of course would be 10mm wider overall, so it would stick out 5mm more

mtlcls500, not all 275 or 285's have the same tire (section) width,
In some cases they differer drastically. That is why you hear ppl saying that they can runs 285 and other will rub with a 275. the stock 255 on the back of our cars are actually very wide for a 255, its just about the same size as a normal 265. List out the tire options (specific brands) and we can take it from there. The maximum Section width I found that you can run without rubbing even of the rear seats are loaded up on the stock rims are 11.2"
Here is an example..
Michelin Pilot Super Sport 275/25ZR20 Section Width (11.6")
Pirelli P Zero Nero 275/25ZR20 Section Width (11.4")
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position 275/30R20 Section Width (10.6")
Michelin Pilot Super Sport 275/30ZR20 Section Width (10.9")
Sumitomo HTR Z III 275/30ZR20 Section Width (10.5")
Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 Section Width (10.9")
Pirelli P Zero 275/30ZR20 Section Width (11")
Bridgestone Potenza S001 275/30ZR20 Section Width (10.9")
I have less than half a pencil between the tire wall and the back brake line on the stock 18's running a 275, but my 275 tires has a very wide section width of (11.2")
So if you have 51mm offsets VS 54mm that means its about 0.12" more on the outside of the tire.
I would need to go look again at mine to see the space left between the outside and the fender.
But my gut tells me that the widest Section width you should go with is about 11"
** The NITTO Invo 275/25-20 Has a Section Width of 10.83" and go for around $328 each in the rear
Hope it helps you
