FYI I used the key instead of the keyless-go button, to take that out of the equation. Followed the prompts exactly.

Tune did not get loaded due to
- Zero change in car sound when I cold started it after pressing OK on the Error screen
- Plugged the unit back into the PC and there was still no stock file, which according to people above, it will show up in the drop-down on Info after a tune is successfully loaded, when plugged into the PC

Is there a way to use the tool to verify what file (stock, tune, etc) is actually currently on the car?

Could this be an issue with 2011 cars?? That's the only theme I see so far. Hoozyer's 2010 and B16's 2009 seem to have worked fine. There were certainly some behind the scenes changes for 2011's. We found that out trying "error free" LED bulbs which worked fine in 2008-2010 cars and throw codes in 2011-2012 cars.

I plugged MyGenius into the computer and do not see the original stock file being displayed either.

The stock file does show on the MyGenius programming tool though.

Check to see if it is still in the tool.

Nope. Double checked and I can only scroll through my 91 and 93 octane tune files.

I tried the whole procedure again and noticed something new. When it starts the first Write, it VERY quickly flashes up saying "error writing to ECU", then when that disappears, it gives the "run the errors" message and I continue through the prompts of dashboard on and off, finally showing the 0x3235 Security error.

Mine did the same thing.

I tried it again, reseating the connector and giving more time for dashboard on/off times to happen then it worked.

how much time? when you turn off the dash are you going from key position #2 to key position #1? or position #0 (just inserted, not turned)?

I did this.

Screen would say turn dashboard on: Turn key to position before actually starting (not sure which that is, mine only seems to have key in, position 1 and start? unfortunately my wife has the car right now so I can't run back out and check. I'm sure its what you consider position 2). Then wait about 10 seconds before proceeding.

Screen says turn dashboard off: do that, remove the key completely and wait about 10 seconds before proceeding.

You'll know it is pushing the flash because the part where the handheld says "writing to ECU" there is a progress bar that comes up and it takes a minute or two to complete. During this time the cars radiator fan comes on full blast and you get a message in the console that says the car is inoperable, bring in for service. :P

Interesting. Thanks for the input. Did you mean you got the quick "error communicating with ECU", or the 0x3235 security error at the end, or both, like ours are doing?

I waited quite a while (although probably less than ten seconds) between dash on/dash off.

Also, I DO get the car to full blast the fan and say "ESC INOPERABLE!" or something scary, but the progress bar flies. Only takes as long as the one in Timothy's video. It's at THAT point (car going ape and progress bar flying) that it flashes the "error communicating with ECU" and then proceeds with the other 2 or three dash on/dash offs, ending in the Wrong Security error

Timothy are you still bricked, or are you able to see (or remember) if your car also blasted the fan and had scary warnings during the middle point?

My experience was exactly like Timothy's video when it failed to write.

Then I reseated the obd connector, gave it another go giving more time to allow the dashboard to boot and shutdown and it worked.

So I am still bricked . The fan cut on briefly then errored out in the same way as it initially failed to do the write. I followed above instructions verbatim. Maybe it has to do with my2011

You shouldn't be bricked, are you??

You can't drive your car at all?

You made sure it was plugged in tight on both ends of the cable?

the car is fine (as far as I know), the tuning device is bricked into recovery mode and I am unable to reset it.

I think he means the unit is bricked, not the car.

I have little faith that waiting even longer between dash on/of will help my case, but I'll try it later. My money's still on problems with my2011 or some other issue we need help with.

Mine is supposed to arrive on Tuesday, so I haven't had a chance to play around with it yet.

Most handheld flashers work on the same principle so the part that turns on the fan and shows funny codes on the car sounds normal. It's basically running an ECU program that allows accessing the ECU code. I have had that with sucesfully flashing my g37 as well. However, the security errors are usually an indication that the protection on the ECU is not properly cracked. This is usually the problem with the FLASHER software/harware (i.e mygenius), not the tune. It may be that the Mygenius has not been fully tested with all MB ECU versions, especially the latest ones such as 2011/2012 which is why those people are having the problem.
It would be interesting to know if someone from Dimsport/eurocharged confirm that they tested the mygenius on the LATEST MB ECU versions. Because on the dimsport website, there is not even MB on the MyGenius applications list (although you can apparently flash your John Deere tractor : )

Again I am only guessing on this based on extensive experience with other ECU flashing, but hopefully it will help someone resolve these problems.

Can't wait to get my tune on!

In my case i got the same errors, then tried again and it worked.

So you would think if it is a hw/sw issue regarding the encryption I would have either not seen that security error or not been able to successfully flash.

Eurocharged Performance ML63 and TT lambo
anyone having issues send us your contact information to sales@eurocharged.com so we can help.

Jerry left a long vm as well

Make sure to have the obd connector fully seated and DO NOT bump it while writing or you will get into recovery mode.

Key should be position 2 (right before the car starts) We will be getting documentation up asap and anyone who needs help rest assured we are here for ya.

All the flashes will say run error deletion at the end that is normal.

I'm not sure if there is something different with the 2011/12, but I'm sure we'll see some more posts from others if there is.

On my device I am able to click Work and then Writing and it will display the following screen.

Since I don't have any other tunes, I am assuming the Original is my stock tune and the Modified is the v3 tune.

What I am not seeing is the Original stock file in the software view. I only see the v3 tune in the following.

Should I be seeing the original stock as an option?

When I plug MyGenius back into the PC I was able to download a file called MYGFile.fpf that is 757 KB. I don't know what this file is but, if I try to upload the file back into the device I get the following error.

Does this mean the original stock file can only be found on the device itself?

From what I was told..

The v3 tune has the stock one embedded in it, which must be that original option.

The fpf file is what is downloaded when te device is married to your car. This is what EC uses to do your tunes for your ecu. That is not the stock tune.

Hang in there. I'm sure the anticipation is the worst part, but I'm sure things will be resolved really soon. Once you get it working I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Good luck and keep us posted!
