removing charcoal filters????
I removed my charcoal filters and removed the plastic that held it in. I didnt modify the plastic oval that the MAF is in.
After removing the plastic from the lid there is a gap that air can go through without passing by the MAF. Is this going to affect the way my car run? It makes me feel like it could possibly make the car run lean?

I broke it when removing it so its not going back in. I had intentions of cutting the plastic oval that the MAF is in like others have done but I didnt, well not yet.

That opening does look like it might lead to unmeasured air getting by the MAF and result in lean operation. Have you tried it yet? Just don't do any WOT or high RPM runs. If you cannot glue the original piece back in or are not comfortable plugging the gap with high temp silicone you might have to buy some ROW box tops.
