I just dropped my car for a 2nd service. Car is now 2 years old and has only 13000km (7000m). Guy told me that they have to change spark plugs as a part of a 2 year service! Is that normal for AMG or somebody is playing with me?

I think it's a change after 5 years or 100,000km whichever comes first should be in the maintenance schedule

Thxs! They took my car inside and my book was in a car so couldnt check. But here in UAE they have redicilous prices and rules for so called heavier maintinance due to harsh conditions so they wanna charge me 1150$ for a 2nd service

Way too early for changing spark plugs!!!
Unless you have misfiring issues or else you should be good with only an oil change, filters changes, brakes check, tires check, top up fluids .... all the basics you should check on a car.
Don't buy that harsh weather BS!! At least they should check for rust/corrosion maybe due to the sand . Do you live near the sea? Salt is your enemy.

Yeap Abu Dhabi has sand dunes on one side and sea on other. Now he told me that car is finished and they gave me huge discount which im gonna see 2mrw when ill come to pick up my car but i ask him to save my spark plugs (if they gonna be mine) then ill post a picture and write email to Mercedes too. Thats a bull s... money stilling just to keep that warranty

very odd...mercedes told me its every 100,000KM or 5 years like they say above...$1100 too? whats getting done exactly? I just had my "60,000KM" service done and it only costed me $400 or so and that was transmission service and some other things ...maybe you guys get super bad sand storms and it screws with the engine? not sure

It comes with everything in UAE! Here all stuff are super expensive cause they can do it. Ill see 2mrw exactly what has been donne. 2day they told me: oil change, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs and i went crazy about the price. Never the less mercedes AMG will get a letter for me so will see if they will answer.

yeah, I'd say that's a tad early for new plugs, even in harsh conditions.

According to my 2010 Service Booklet plugs are Service 12 - at every 100,000 km or 4 years. Just did mine with only 21,500 km. Used Brisk from Weistec.

went to pick up a car. They change the spark plugs and they gave me big discount so i payed 750$ in the end but went to see a manager to get explanation about it cause in a service manual say the same thing about spark plugs like in USA. Well after lots of b.. s... tell me that thats the procedure to continue to have the warranty cause maybe catalytic converters will go bad and some other stuff ... by the way manual says you have to change brake fluid every 2 years which they havent donne! In the end i told him to change my whole engine just in case and charge me for it please cause maybe something else will went bad if thats the only way to continue with my warranty or maybe i should just by a new car As far as i know warranty is for a buyer not for a workshop then i said ok no problems cause i already payed for a service can he please put down on a paper that after 13 000km and 2 years they have found spark plugs in bad condition and to put his name and stamp from Mercedes UAE there and it will be ok for me but just to let him know that that paper will go to AMG to claim the warranty from my side! Of course he didnt wanna do that cause i was right. So now i have my old spark plugs with me (they look as brand new ones) and waiting for his answer which he promised to give me by 2mrw. By the way spark plugs plus labor cost 275$ here
