Need help..Don't know what's going on

Hello guys,

I was driving my car a little bit hard tonight. I caught a Ford GT next to me, and he was kept doing the "down-shifting" next to me. So, I was thinking to let my C63 to run a bit with that GT. I turned from C mode to S+ and I floored it. The GT didn't seem fast to me maybe he wasn't even flooring his???? Dunno...Whatever. Problem came.......there's a sign (looks like sth about the engine) came out on my dash. I pulled my car over to the side and I shut the car down. Few mins after, I turned it back on and the sign is still there. The engine was vibrating and I rev it to 3K once. And the car shut it down itself. Didn't know what's going on.....and I switched off everything and waited for like 15mins. And I drove home with the unknown sign on. I hope you guys understand my english......Do you guys know what's the problem? Thanks in advance !!

Tim

That would be your check engine light. This usually indicates a fault or sometimes a larger problem. I would seek a independent mechanic or head to the dealership if its still under warranty.

It can be the fuel pump, not sure just considering...
I got the same problem on mu X6 few month ago the engine started shaking and the whole car got vibration... Couldnt rev more than 3k and the car would go like a turtle.
And it was the fuel pump.
Never got anything like that on my c63

It is indeed the check engine light. Ur car is shaking cuz the engine went on limp mode. Try not to drive it too much, or drive it straight to the dealership if it's not too far.

It could be anything, most common problem would be purge valve, O2 sensors (like mine 2 years ago).

For others who are reading this, our cars don't alway shake when they go in limp mode. In my own experience, the car overheated and ran slow and wouldn't allow me to shift gears at all in limp mode. I didn't get a check engine light or any message, but it did throw a code for overheating which the dealer caught.

Best bet is to bring it to a mechanic and see what codes come up.

Good luck with your car.

When this happened to me shortly after delivery (with-in 5 days) the car threw out a bunch of codes, so they spent 3 days checking IF the car was tuned (it isn't) -- it ended up being a sensor, she runs perfect now.

If its under warranty then don't worry about it, they will fix it...but I know waiting sucks.
