idea on how much shops charge for replace/install coilovers

just wanted to ask you guys what's the running rate of shops to replace/install coil overs.. i may need to look around some shops here in town for this.. or any recommended shops within houston? thanks

If it was anything like getting it adjusted, you're probably looking at a 6-8hr job. Everything has to come apart.

BerBer63 10-12-2012 09:40 PM

i paid 400 like 2 years ago

Just call a K W distributor. I would like to know too.

Same here. Anything up to $500 for a good job is a fair price IMO.

dang! didn't know that it's this much for this job.. its a new install for a used h&r coil over.

Brillo, I left my OEM front top mounts for you, should be even easier, took me 5 hrs to install h&r coilivers and 4.5 hrs to install the clubsports, if $65 hourly rate, should be less than $350 for sure, hope that helps

^^thanks.. im excited, will have to look for shops tomorrow. i haven't opened the box yet.. i'll post pics of the items and of the install.. can this be done by one person? i know of someone that works as a tech at a (jap) dealership and might call him tom to see how much he'd charge me.

Any mechanic that takes 4hrs to install coilovers is not a good one. The job should take max 2.5hrs if that. Should cost you no more than $300 with the alignment. Not Trying to be an a$$ but I do these in 1.5hrs, then I ask the client to come in so we can both mess with the setup he/she prefers.

I'm going by what I hear near me. Few people even want to do an alignment on my car.

Wow....would have thought in your area it would be easy getting an alignment done with all the nice cars there

CoolBDPhenom03 10-13-2012 08:26 PM

I guess, if you know the right shops. Luckily, my body shop guy is well connected. People kind of freak when I tell them what kinds of rims and suspension I have.

shades 10-13-2012 08:33 PM

Nice...I love that look, gotta pay to play

CoolBDPhenom03 10-13-2012 08:38 PM

Thanks, bro.
