H&R Springs installed!

Just lowered my baby today on H&R springs. The car rides surprisingly good, not bouncy at all, very satisfied with this mod...next...WHEELS! Now, if i could make up my mind...i don't know if i should do 20's or 19's...we don't have a lot of choices because of the high offset in the rear...i wish i could do 10.5 or 11's in the rear. Here are a few crappy pictures my friend took with his cell.

Depends on how the roads are around you. For where I live, 19" would probably ideal.

Nice. DIY, or did you have a shop do it? Time and cost? Did you use the rear spring pads from the dealer?

Had a good friend of mine that has his own shop do it, for $300.
Took him @3 hours and he used the OEM rubber pads.

The car looks great on the H&R springs. As for wheels I have 19x8.5 ET +44 front and 19 X 10 ET+53 rear with no rubbing. 20" have less tire selection, more tire cost and more prone to damage from road conditions but are certainly an option. Some people think 20s are too large but it depends a lot on the style of wheel you pick. Most monoblocks with spokes to the edge of the rim look larger than most 3 piece rims especially if the 3 piece have stepped lips. It is hard to get deep concave or wide lips on our c63s because of the high offset on the rear and big brakes on the front. You can get about 2.5" concavity on the rear at maximum and maybe a 3" lip max depending on the shape of the centers of the wheel.

Do you have better pictures of your wheels?

adibaiz 11-12-2012 11:09 PM

No i did not, i re used the pads that were on the OEM springs.

C63sydney 11-13-2012 12:37 AM

Does using other pads get your car lower?

Looks great, are they the sport or super sport springs?

Depends on the thickness of the spring pads you are using. I used the thicker pads in the rear (17mm) to raise my rear a bit.

Here are 2 examples of my wheels with H&R springs...

P40 19x8.5 +41mm w/245/35 & 19x9.5 +50mm w/265/30 ... no rubbing at all!

OEM multispoke 19x8 w/12mm spacer = +33mm (235/35) & 19x9 w/10mm spacer = +44mm (255/30) ... no rubbing at all too.

_timothy 12-25-2012 09:23 AM

Roswell, those 19" multispokes really are the best wheel out there. Looks great

Roswell 12-25-2012 10:37 AM

Thanks Timothy, I do like the look a lot.. very classy vs my old OEM 18's sporty look.

adibaiz 12-26-2012 06:20 PM

Roswell, when you get sick of the 19" OEM multi spoke and want to change the look 'again", don't even bother to put them in the classified forum, just let me know and i'll buy them off you right away. Seriously!

Roswell 12-26-2012 06:28 PM

LOL, I got so many PM's about selling my OEM.. I didn't think they were so high demand. Lol

VividRacing 12-26-2012 07:32 PM

I can get plenty of setups to work with the H&R Springs with no rubbing!

Let me know which wheels you're interested in and we'll figure something out

VaclavSV 02-06-2013 01:56 PM

What are the specs for the springs? How much of a drop does it give?
