Lowering with H&R springs, but not sure on spacers?

Im lowering my C63 coupe tommorow and I wanted to put on H&R spacers (10mm). When I called H&R they told me they have not made spacers for the coupe yet. I thought it was the same as the sedan? and if im lowered im not sure if its going to rub or not? Has anybody had this set up? I have my stock 18" wheels. Any help would be appreciated

I have the same issue with H&R. I thought a spacer is a spacer provided our bolt pattern and center bores are the same- which is the same for all MB passenger cars aside from the G. With that said, it made me hesitant to order the spacers that I need because H&R said so- is there something I'm missing or as long as center bore and bolt pattern are the same, there's no issue?

maybe they mean a specific width of the spacer to make the oem wheels flush with the coupe?

NO spacers on the hubs, get the correct offset wheel.

Sometimes you don't have a choice for an aggressively offset wheel, especially if you're staying with stock rims.

I am staying with my stock wheels, and I obviously can't change the offset so I am trying to make it flush to fenders with the spacers.

You will not rub on your H&R springs. From my search, you can run 10mm rear & 12mm front spacers w/o rubbing with your oem wheels.

But I'm not sure if the sedan & coupe uses the same part # spacers from H&R.

Thanks for the info Roswell! Thats the set up I was looking for. I called H&R but they didn't even give me a part number for the coupe, I might shop around and see what other spacers are available for the coupe.

If you take a wheel off and look at the hub face you see a raised section in the center that the wheel centers on. If it is 8.5mm high and there is no dust cap then the spacers for the sedans will fit the coupe.

Here's a post from my local board about running spacers on the coupe. He ended up running 15mm all around and you can see what it looks like. Stock suspension/wheels.

Here is a link to a Tire Rack Article that tells the number of turns required for a given Lug Bolt size. Our cars have a spec of M14 x 1.5mm. That means the thread diameter is 14mm and has a pitch of 1.5mm per turn. The required number of turns is 7.5. The length the lug bolt should protrude through the wheel and any spacer to be installed is 7.5 x 1.5mm = 11.23mm. Look under Step #5 for the second Note:.

http://www.tirerack.com/installer/package_install.jsp

Maybe post this up it PureMB for those interested. I see it is under discussion.

Thats perfect the dimension and hub diameter were the same as the sedan, when I checked on H&R so everything fit on just right I will be going with the 10mm rear and 12mm in the front.
