I wouldn't recommend changing just the front. However, if you do you need some spacers and longer bolts that I can supply.

Excuse my naivety.... But can you not just buy ceramic pads and use them on the normal rotor/caliper set up?

EDIT: MY BAD EVERYONE. I'M A RETARD. We're talking about carbon-ceramic

RacingBrake has good news for those who are interested in this Carbon Brake conversion.

We can make a rotor hat with smaller drum dia (165mm vs. 180mm), so the rotor will be a direct bolt on installation. You save tons of money and trouble while still keep your axle and others like OE.

Converting to BS BBK

Alternatively for a most affordable and cost effective upgrade is to upsize to Black Series set up:

Converting to CCM Brakes

Normally it shouldn't be needed.

We have sold a couple of Mercedes CCB sets by now. I've never heard about any special electrical work that has to be done.

Of course, except you are going to retrofit the brakes on a non plug&play model like the G-Wagon 463 or ML/GLE-Class.

C63 has a drum brake which is not compatible with other models come with CCB options, therefore MB's rear CCB rotors can not be installed in C63 unless the knuckle also replaced.

RB can supply rear CCB with rotor hat made specific for C63 set up for a 100% bolt on installation.

Similar to these two piece BBK we offer to upgrade C63 rear to C63 BS:

Still saves you 5 lbs per rotor even oversized to 360x26mm (vs. original 330x26mm 1pc rotor)

We work harder to make your upgrade easier - A different option that just swapping to standard models.

Check RacingBrake out, we have the complete CCB replacement/upgrade for MB.

http://www.racingbrake.com/C63-AMG-C...AMG-s/7219.htm

We even make and offer rear CCB rotors for C63S to compliment the set up to FULL CCB. All our offer are made for bolt on installation, no need to exchange axle or spindle knuckle/hub etc.

lol I thought exact same thing.

Plus most folks that have carbon ceramics run steel rotors on the street as they're far less expensive and have better feel through the pedal.

Buying these for a streetcar would be like putting Yokohama AD-08R's on your minivan. The best, yes. Necessary, no.

Many people have been asking about this CC brake conversion. I highly suggest it and since Racing Brake seems to have a perfect replacement this should be the way to go.

Hi would the W222 S63 carbon brakes work with the C63 BS and the standard alloys? The rears are 360

Thank you

QUOTE=Dads C63;5484019]This is a new thread to delete the old "Brembo brake package" thread so I'll give you an update.
I was looking for the most cost effective way to convert to Carbon Ceramic brakes without spending a fortune. I inquired a few of the major brake builders like Brembo and Wilwood. They all wanted a fortune so I thought about experimenting with the stock OEM CC brakes that come on the new 2012 E, SLS, and CLS AMG's. Ordered the front right rotor to make sure it fit and it did. So then I ordered the caliper and it fit but needed a spacer to move the caliper out to fit the new larger rotor(made sense).
The only challenge that surfaced was the 18" wheels will not fit over these. I then inquired HRE to custom make some 19" wheels to fit over these brakes. To my surprise HRE said they could not and neither could Forgestar, Forgeline, or Rennen so I began to think this project was dead.
I have to stick with 19" because the Hoosier R6 tires do not come in a 20" for road racing and that was the whole(sole) purpose behind the CC brake conversion.

The SLS, CLS, and E all have stock 19" wheels so whats going on????? Am I stuck running a stock OEM bulky heavy wheel??
As a last resort I decided to try the stock OEM C63 BS front wheels because there was originally a Ducatti edition C63 BS that was going to have the CC brakes. That being said I hoped the C63BS wheels would fit over these larger brakes because they would need to "IF" they had the Ducatti edition(which never materialized).

Well, I got the stock OEM MB C63 BS wheels today and they fit great!!!!!!!!!!
Merry Christmas to me!!
The best news is that they only weigh 21.4#!!

Here is the progression:
Test fitting the rotor and caliper. Needs a spacer and brake pads.
Attachment 378555
Attachment 378556

Everything lines up!!
Attachment 378557
Attachment 378558

Spacers:
Attachment 378559
Attachment 378560

New OEM C63BS wheels:

There is plenty of space between the caliper and wheels. What you are seeing is the stock caliper hanging behind the new CC caliper.
Attachment 378561

Well, there you have it. The stock OEM AMG CC brakes for the E, CLS, and SLS can be adapted to our little "c".

The rears are next.

Part of my dilemma - do I leave the new wheels silver and gray as they are as a contrast to the dark color car or have them painted gloss black?? I will purchase the rear wheels to match and have them widened to accomodate the wider tires.[/QUOTE]
