Hey guys, first time visiting this forum. I own a 335i that is full bolt on. Love the car, but my lease is ending and don't want to deal with the big buy-back on it. I am in the market of purchasing a new car and the c63 really seems interesting. The price tag seems really good to me. I have one problem: I drive an xdrive here in Montreal and it's pretty good. The c63 is rear wheel drive and it will be considered a "family car" which means that the sister can drive it once in a while. We have big time snow here and I'm wondering if it is going to be really bad? I've read different posts where people are saying it isn't that bad with dedicated snow tires. What's the real answer? If I go to the dealer, will they let me test drive it in the winter with winter tires? Would be great to get some answers from you guys. Thanks!

home the point
It's bad compare to an xdrive or 4matic or any all-wheel drive car, but it's not too bad as long as you have some winter tires and go easy on the throttle. I drove 20 miles on icy roads on rear 285 R888s (track tires) last month and did it without incident (the traction was less than ideal but as long as the input was smooth the car was still controllable).

Anything RWD is going to be pretty risky in the snow but with proper tires and cautious driving anything can be safe

alot of us face quite a bit of snow as well. i'm in toronto (less snow than where you are) and I DD my car year round. just make sure you go for good snow tires and drive safely.... the car actually handles quite well.

there are other members up in kingston, ottawa, montreal and alot of them DD as well.

just remember, there are 451 good reasons to get the C63

For a potential customer who is concerned with winter driveability, I don't see why the dealer wouldn't let you test drive it.

Thanks for the quick response ! hopefully they let me test drive it, and hoping that they won't say that it's a terrible winter car in front of my dad and try to convince us to get a 4matic 350 lol.

call ahead and make that test drive appointment. this way, the salesperson will know you are only serious about the c63 and dont want to hear about another car

For snow....not good. Dont have the wool pulled over your eyes. The car is awesome in every way but when it comes to traction in rain/snow....forget about it

I drive my car in the snow... I have a good set of winter tires and it hauls through the worst of it all winter long.
