Today's musings from the dealership
I finally got my car back today after about 2.5 weeks of "surgery". Front-end internals is as good as new, new lip and bumper, roof trim should be coming in next week along with my Affalterbach hood badge. And my body shop guy also installed the CF mirrors I picked up from Hs63amg
However, as soon as I took off, CEL came on with a fuel map code. I'm not sure if its just not happy that I haven't driven it in almost 3 weeks, but it surely can't be associated with the front-end repairs. MB WC doesn't have any AMG techs in until Monday so I guess I'll clear it and see if it's just a cycling thing.
Anyway, if I didn't stop in to the dealership today for this issue, I wouldn't have seen this sick SL65 Black Series. Apparently, the owner of Muscle Milk has good taste
He also tracks the car at Laguna because the tech showed me where the front lip scraped in the corkscrew!

My dealer had a black one that sat for the longest time on the showroom floor, the better part of two years. Just from talking to them I gather that they would have taken a HUGE discount to move it.

No, I haven't. I don't pass through Fairfield that often, but I'm sure biglee73 has. I started talking about exotic cars and my body shop guy said in Fresno, there are supercars aplenty. He's seen everything from Gumperts to Spykers.

Funny, the only one I've seen outside of a showroom was also in WC, but that was a couple of years ago. It was at the gas station on the corner of where I live, in fact.

Fletcher Jones does have a very impressive inventory of AMG cars. But I guess that shouldn't be a surprise given their business size. Their sales told me they moved over a thousand cars last month.

Fletcher Jones is in my back yard in two states, but I remain totally underwhelmed with the dissonance between their advertising reputation and the actual experience that they deliver. When you strip away the glossy veneer IMO there's not that much substance.
