How to Prove Mileage with Winter Tires?
Ok, so after all your sound advice, I just put on dedicated winter wheels.
So now, how do I prove mileage on both my summer tires, PSS, and my winter tires, PA4, if I am swapping the tires myself? At least their both Michelin...

Warranty. Michelin covers 30k miles or 15k miles for a staggered set up.
My Pirellis lasted 7k.

When you put the WT on you get a bill with the initial elapsed miles from the tire shop. Save the bill.
When you put the ST on in the future, the tire shop gives you a bill with the mileage. Save the bill.
Example: the WT went on at 10k odometer miles. They were switched for ST at 15k miles odometer miles. Thus, the WT have 5k miles on them for the first year.
As this sequence repeats you will be able to calculate the actual miles put on the WT and the ST.
BTW I would make sure you rotate any tires at the commended sequence and keep these bills. Finally, read the warranty. The prorating maynot be that wonderful.

If you swap them yourself - you're out of luck.

maybe yes maybe no.
If the OP is worried they should take the tires/wheels back to where they bought them. In the USA many of the better tire shops do the seasonal switchover for free. Is this true in CA (my wife is from Toronto) ?
I keep a detailed log and file of all the service that is done by any entity including myself on all our cars. I insist the dealer stamp the log book at the warranty mileage in the book that comes with the car. Many don't bother - they just put the info into the computer of the service they have performed. That's why I do A&B services at the dealer when the car is under warranty.

I understand why you choose to swap them yourself... I don't trust grease monkeys at the tire shops either...
However you might not be out of luck, you had to have them mounted to rims... on the invoice if the shop is good and not lazy they would have recorded the mileage on your car. since your trying to get a free set of tires you might have to just cave in and let the tire shop uninstall them and put your summers on then you will have a second invoice with mileage on it and you can then go to the manufacture and say they lasted how many years and only 7K
