Does anybody regret buying aftermarket trunk spoiler?
After a painful neurotic indecisive crisis, I have finally narrowed my choice of trunk spoiler down to the the Revozport RBS II sedan spoiler.
My only concern is that this spoiler and most aftermarket spoilers are a lot larger than the OEM CF spoiler that came with my P31 package and I am concerned about the possibility of losing the fine balance between the classy and sporty vibe of the C63. (Some may say I've already done that with the carbon fiber seatbacks but I disagree -- I am allergic to the dull black plastic on the OEM seatbacks and the seatbacks looks cool as hell and match my CF interior trim)
Has anybody installed an aftermarket spoiler and then regretted it due to the change in aesthetics of their car?
Or has anybody who had the same concern about purchasing a large trunk spoiler very happy that they did so because it enhances the cars looks without making it look too ricey, modded, cheesy, etc...

Ive contemplated getting an aftermarket spoiler for a long time (even considered getting the old vorsteiner one built for the sedan trunk -3 month lead time) but in the end I have decided to keep my OEM CF one for now. I like the looks. Ive seen a few of the aftermarket solutions in person and honestly I think they look great from some angles (all angles on the black series) and awful from others which is why I never went with one. The small lip that comes with the car is very classy and subtle in my opinion. I havent regretted my decision not to purchase one as of yet lol

i was under the impression you were going to Pepboys to get a huge aluminum spoiler
if you are worried about a spoiler that adds an inch or two in looks to the car then you should just stay OEM .
i think they look incredible but that's just my $.02

Just wondering if you have ever seen a Revozport one in person?

bsmooth7: i am in the same boat as you, and i do OCD over these things, so after countless days of analysis, i decided to stay with my OEM. i personally think the larger CF spoiler would look out of place on my otherwise stock car. now if i dropped the car, got larger wheels, etc., then maybe i would think differently. but with my stock set up, i decided to stay with the stock wing.

No I have never seen the revozport one. I saw the mode carbon one a sedan and it looked good straight from the back and from minor angles but from the sides it looked too aggressive and out of place. I also dont like the "curved wave" shape and prefer sharper lines.

I love my big Vorsteiner spoiler. It completes the mean look of the the Vorsteiner aero kit and adds some height to the rear of the car. It's just on the right side of borderline ostentatious.

Nothing beats the fit and finish of OEM.
I wouldn't get those ebay wings.. Some could fit good and some might not... It's the luck of the draw.
For my replica C74 rear spoiler... I had to send back and fourth 3 wings to get a decent one that fit properly.
Vorsteiner, Renntech and Mode Carbon come in a close second to OEM.... Brabus is in another league.

has anyone installed a replica carbon fiber trunk lid spoiler lip from Taiwan that copies the OEM AMG P31 CF spoiler? I am thinking of getting one if anyone knows whether it is exactly the same or if you can tell the difference. I dont' need original if they are both made of the same material and have the exact same shape and look.
I emailed the guy from ebay selling this and he said it is 100% exactly the same.

but I wanted to inquire first with any members whether they have first hand experience with these.

I was contemplating on this decision as well and I've come to the conclusion that the OEM spoiler looks best...for my car. The more aggressive spoilers look great on darker cars because it accents the rear. On lighter cars, the contrast in color and shape really stands out and disrupts the flow of the rear. Just my 2c.

I was afraid that my mode carbon trunk spoiler would be too big and not fit the look of the car. After putting it on, I honestly could not go back to stock. The look really fills out the rear and makes the soft rear of the car look much more aggressive in my opinion. Finally the rear matches the front in aggressiveness. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I love it!

Well I just installed the CF JBSpeed V-Stlye spoiler. I'm still on the fence of whether or not I made the right decision swapping out the oem for it. Had my car been black it would have been much more subtle, on white not so much, pretty much in your face. I do like how the CF diffuser and the spoiler compliment one another tho.

I'm thinking about removing my oem period
The rear of the car looks good without it and it looks 'tacked on'
Cleaner without it
Now the RS4 spoiler was beautiful
Actually molded into the trunk and blended into the fenders

(I almost got the RS4, if I had I would have kept it. Instead I got the E350, which a year later traded it for the C63.)
We're lucky to have several vendors for the C63, options are always good. some of you guys have some awesome mods!
