Car comes with 18's although I want 19's

Hey guys, MB has the exact car I want in stock which is great because I got a sweet deal.. Although it comes with 18's. I'm going back this friday and going to sign although I want the 19's on it. Are they able to switch them out for me or is it much more complicated since the serial codes wouldn't match after? I wouldn't mind keeping the 18's for winter and actually buying the 19's but they are a 12oo$ package when ordering the car, but I doubt they are priced so low if I want to actually buy them.. Any help? thanks

I would be HIGHLY skeptical that you can get the dealer to swap the 18s for 19s without paying something significant. For one, the would likely need to order the 19s in. Also, they would likely have a hard time getting rid of the 18s whether they are new or not.

I bought my 19s and sold my 18s after market. I had a spread in the difference but it was reasonable.

it definitely will be highly unlikely they will be willing to do a straight swap. either try to get them to give you a reasonable upgrade cost or look at the options avail in the aftermarket

btw, not sure where you are located but many of us use the 18s for our snow tires and buy 19s for the summer

1200$ option package... go for it!! If you buy them afterwards at the dealership, be ready to pay 6000$ & up w/tires.

Or you can keep the OEM 18's for winter, and look for a used set of OEM 19's... easier to find if you are in Canada than US.

I got lucky as I sold my 18's for an almost new set of 19's, and only lost 800$. ;)

I wouldn't mind paying a price such as the 1200$ it usually costs on the package.. they do have 2 sets of 19's on both c63's on the demo's. It would be ideal for me to keep the 18's as a winter set and them charging me lets say 1200$ for 19's. I guess I just need to ask!

Yea gotta find a way for them to offer me a good price. I'm from Montreal so 18's is what I use for winter.. that's why I wouldn't mind keeping the 18's and just getting a good price on the 19's since i'm getting a car from them lol

1200$ is when you chose the package when making the price of the car.. I doubt that's how much the dealer charges if I want to buy them afterwards haha! The reason why I'm upset is that they already have the car I want there, although its sitting on 18's and not 19's  Nice wheels you have there! I saw a guy in Montreal with some similar wheels on a white '63 last year!

There's ZERO chance of them taking them off a factory spec'd 19" wheel car. The best you could hope for would be a discount off retail on ordering a set from the parts department at the dealer or maybe if they have a take off set from a guy who bought aftermarket wheels and wants to sell them. But swapping them from another car on the lot, unless its a "dealer add" optioned wheel would be a big fat no.

I also think changing them isn't gonna work. And yes, the 19" are going to be more expensive since the price is structured as 18's + the difference, 1200 for the 19's (if i've understood correctly?). I know the 18's are around 800 a pop at least in finland so that would set you back, well best case around 3k. Might be i'm wrong

I was in your position as well but i opt out of the 19's and would rather just go aftermarket for the 19's. Theres alot more options out there that would compliment the car alot more than the standard 19's.

i think c-63 amg or someting like that sells used 19's with tires from the middle east for like $2600 shipped or something. you've apparently got to wait a few weeks for them to arrive, but he sold a couple sets before and people were really happy with them. that'd be a much better option than finding them new. i'm not sure how easy they are to find locally.

DonnieDekis 03-14-2013 10:46 PM

those 19's are 1200$ (each) without tires, the dealer wont be swapping them.
