2012 C63 AMG sedan with halogen headlamps wanting to upgrade to projector type
Hey all,
As the title states.
I have the halogen headlamps on my 2012 C63. I want to purchase the projector type and install them on mine. These came on lighting package vehicles. I am aware this maybe more than just a swap. I've seen some dead end streets on this topic but I would like to find out once and for all how involved it is.
Is someone with the lighting package willing to pull there headlight and snap a picture of what the plugs look light? Power connections etc. I would like to compare them to mine. I was told from a seller that the only difference may be to program the headlamps once installed but I don't know the truth if any in that statement. I know there's others with this question.

The easy way is to send your headlights to a "retrofitter" they can put in HID projectors. Someone on this forum has done it and it looks good.
Do a search and you will see it.
I will be doing it shortly also.

hmmm ill have to look into it. I do know in the Subaru world people do that or upgrade the project lens itself.
I may do that but i want to see if its possible to buy the headlamps that are already meant for it and put them in. I dont know if they have a plug that isnt on ours or vise versa. If thats the case then forget it. Im not going to get involved with harnesses etc. I would assume every car is equipped with the same wiring for any package just not the parts. IE headlamps.

I am really suprised some of these MB dealers are ordering amg cars without lighting package. Do they really think it's ok to sell a $80k car without xenons?

I think most people just get the Depo projector lights and throw an HID kit in them. Depo makes decent stuff. They look pretty much the same as the factor projector housings too.
