Probably picking up a CTS-V coupe

Local dealer has a good deal on a CTS-V Coupe MT now with the new CTS being released. Looking to pick it up in about 2 weeks if I can squeeze something out of them. :zoom: Ill keep posting details as they come to me, so far I have just asked for all the information on the car. (Haven't even mentioned a trade in yet). How do you guys who have moved to the CTS-V find the Caddy? Have any of you purchased it with the MT? Thanks!

thats pretty nice.,

I plan on buying a 2012 CPO wagon/sedan once the nex gen launches. Should give it enough depreciation.

PM PetroC63. He traded his C63 for a CTS-V. There is a thread on here about his thoughts.

jvanbrecht 04-04-2013 08:59 AM

Since I cannot get the stupid RS6 Wagon in the US (sad.. it's an awesome car).. the new E63 wagon will be way out of my price range.. a nice used CTS-V wagon may be in my future.

nismofob 04-04-2013 10:41 AM

You trading in the 63 for it?

Ratven 04-04-2013 04:05 PM

I'm not crazy on the coupe, but I'd love a CTS-V wagon... I think they're bada**

I went from a C63 to a V sedan(automatic). Very happy with the move. I loved the C63 but to me the Cadillac is more refined/nicer. I would compare it to an E-class. The interior is very nice, it handles better and it has loads of power. I just did a few upgrades(see sig) and it went 10.87 at 127 at Atco a couple of weeks ago.

I hear the manual is a blast to drive but the automatics are faster at the track. If you have no interest in track racing(1/4 mile) the manual is the way to go. With the right tuner/parts it's pretty easy to make 600 HP at the wheels in these cars.

ctsvowners.com is a good forum for the V. I'm PetroCTS-V over there.

Never driven one. Friend has a coupe and loves it. He dusted my ass off the line.

CoolBDPhenom03 04-04-2013 05:57 PM

I've seen only a couple around...those these sound freaking mean. I love how sleek they look, but I've heard the build quality leaves something to be desired.

VaclavSV 04-04-2013 09:59 PM

Im not getting rid of the C63 LOL :D. Im actually trading in a facelifted TT on the CTS-V then driving the ***** out of the Caddy for the summer only to trade it back in on a 2104 E63 which we already ordered! Since the dealer is desperate to get rid of the CTS-V we can get a wicked deal and can drive the car for the summer costing practically nothing if we get a fair trade in value on the other end! If the CTS-V is amazing and I dont want the C63 anymore I can trade the C63 back in on the E63 as well...we'll have to see :D

Even when compared to all of our squeaks and rattles? Lol.

Never drove one but i'm not a big fan of its look.
I hope you'll get what you want.

I'll take those over typical Chevy reliability issues.

I drive a 2010 CTS-V sedan. My wife drives a 2012 C63 sedan. The V is much more comfortable on long drives as it has a much more refined suspension, yet it still out handles the C63. The V sedan also has much more back seat room than the C. Of course this is a moot point in the coupe as it is tight even getting to the rear seat and the space is really small.

The manual transmission has a very solid feel and is lots of fun to use.

After 2+ years of driving, my V has about the same number of squeaks and rattles as my wife's 8 month old C. To be fair, I do have a very intermittent electrical problem where the memory seat won't go back to its preset position. However, that is the only problem the car has ever had. I'll take that over faulty head bolts every time ;-)

I think you will enjoy the V. If you miss the stiffer ride of the C, just put the suspension in Sport mode. It still won't be as stiff as the C, but it will be closer ;-)

Wife won't drive the V, barely agrees to ride in it. She says it is an old man's car. She much prefers her smaller (and in her mind) sportier C. Of course she is older than I am, so I do tell her to watch that old man stuff

Thrilla 04-05-2013 12:08 PM

The CTS-V wagon is a sharp looking car. I'm visiting family in Michigan and I've seen a few on the road. On paper, it's very impressive. The wagon is badass. I'm almost tempted to test drive one, just to compare.

Most-Wanted 04-06-2013 05:42 AM

Not sure of the details on the V your trying to buy but just a heads up there are dealers with 12's they are selling for 11-12K off. I've had both btw. You'll love the V:) best wishes.

YellowJacket 04-06-2013 12:58 PM

I traded by C63 sedan for a CTS-V sedan and really happy about it. Much better ride quality and more options that I really like. I miss the exhaust note of the C63 though.

Rob@Strasse 04-06-2013 01:42 PM

Those CTSV's are ridiculously quick when modded the right way!

From M to AMG 04-06-2013 07:18 PM

I haven't tried the V yet, but I remember something about the Sun Roof not being able to open... I think it just tilts. Can anyone verify?

What reliability issues are you talking about? I'm sorry, but GM is probably 10 times more reliable than Mercedes.
