Almost C63 ala Ferrari Flambe...
not sure if the attachment will show up inline, however its a picture of the drivers side tail light connector.. it was smoking.. I disconnected it.
Thing is.. I know of the TSB.. And I have already had my car in for that problem prior.. guess they did not replace both, just the passenger side...
In case no one gets the flambe reference.. it was a reference to the self immolation of a number of Ferrari's when they used crappy glue to hold the wheel well in place near the exhaust manifolds (or something similar), and then burst into flames.

It was an ongoing issue in the C-Class W204 and affected 2008+ cars. It is the ground wire and they should replace both sides with the new harness and bulb assembly. My car was way out of warranty and they replaced it at no cost because I told them it was a Safety Issue and I would hold them liable if I got rear-ended.
I still love the 458 Italias- They are HOT!!!

Funny that this thread was created because I just got the same problem with my rear lights. It started with the instrument cluster telling me there's a problem with the rear right lights, but when I went to check it (this was during the day time) they looked normal. It wasn't until I got it into my garage that I noticed the dimmer light on the right. I opened up the back and lo' an behold, the brown wire is starting to corrode.
How did you guys go about getting the dealership to fix it out of warranty? Is there an actual recall for this?
