I looked through my book and to me this looks like an oil change. I asked the dealer he said, "Oh it's amg special oil, bla bla" So my question is should I do the oil change myself? What are the consequences?

I have a list of other things I'm not happy with, so I'm thinking I will do my own oil change and then take it in for them to work on my list of issues as warranty work.

I get it! it's an AMG, but at the same time my logic brain is screaming your getting ripped off...

Any help, advice would be much appreciated!

Dealer is the worst rip off. Unless you know absolutely nothing about your car, then bring it to the dealer.

You can purchase the oil/filter and bring it to jiffy lube... They usually charge $30 to change it if your supply materials.

The front oil cooler should be drained, but really there is only about 300ml of oil in the thing. If your looking at the car from the front, the plug is on the passenger side rear of the cooler.

Get two new copper crush washers and don't over torque them, the bolts are steel and te threads are aluminum.

I have done the Service A at Lone Star here in Calgary, and it ran me $450. They use a 5W-30 Type M oil that you can buy direct from the dealer for $12/L. You need 10L of it, so thats $120+tax. The other service items are stupid things like tire rotations (staggered fit, directional tires.... cant be rotated.) and brake inspections where they will tell you your pads are at 50% and need to be replaced and ask for $3000.

Thinking that first service I should just pay it. I have some annoying rattles, and I would rather be in the dealers good books when trying to get things like that solved.

I think I'm still ahead of my 370 cost wise. It would have had 3 services already ($250-300 each)

Yeah I am thinking about ordering a Mityvac and then its simple as hell!

So I talked to MB Canada and they said it won't void your warranty obviously if you swap the oil yourself, but skipping their inspections can apparently allow the dealer to blame any future warranty work on the fact that you didn't get the inspection. Is this true?? Like if I were to change my own oil and skip the rest of the Service B, would that be risky?

you need proof that all the stuff from the service was completed and any replacement parts are oem to ensure you are ok for warranty.

imo, go find a reputable indie shop that MB knows... for example, an ex MB master tech that went out on his own. they can do your service at a huge discount
