C63 PP Coupe 2012 - Rattles, Engine Pinging & Brakes
Hi People,
Put my car into MB Brisbane - Australia
Rattles
They found 2. The sunroof seals were dry so they lubricated the seals and resealed front of rear sunroof glass.
Rear Parcel Shelf - was rubbing against the fibre glass of the shelf. Applied installation to contact points of shelf.
Pinging
I though It must have been a crook tank of juice. They software updated for Camsaft & Valves.
I have now put some valve cleaner when I fill up last week.
Squeeky Brakes.
When I took the MB Teck for a test drive the brakes squeaked. They had the car for 2 days but they couldn't reproduce it.
After I picked the car up I could make it do it. Seems to be at the end of your braking when you reduce the pressure of the brake peddle when coming to a stop. Called then back they said they would have a look at it and also replace my rear bake pads that had some uneven wear on them.
My car only has 8k on the clock
Besides the brakes it feels now I'm driving a new car. I must have got used to the rattles.

Has all your details inc address on it.
As for pinging, it's not unheard of before on these engines. Usually attributed to carbon build up on top of the pistons. Has adding valve cleaner helped?

I had similar creaks and rattles addressed with mine too, the dealer did a great job with it. My carfax report looks funny though because they listed all the work to repair the rattles on the service info.

Could the pinging cause significant damage though in the long run?
