Had another track event this weekend, this time at Monticello Motor Club in New York. If you live in the area, and you haven't been there, i strongly urge you to try it out; it really is a fantastic track.

A few of my club members made it to this event again, two of which brought along a track prepped Z06 on slicks, and a McLaren MP4-12C. Both of them are very experienced track drivers, though this was the first time the owner of the McLaren had that particular car on the track, so it was a slight feeling out process.

We had a few sessions late in the day after most people had left that we went out and played around a bit. The first session we had the McLaren lead the way. The best lap I saw while following it was a 2:45.5...The thing is crazy fast in the straights as you will see.

The last session, I ended up leading the way, with the McLaren behind me and the Z06 behind it. Fastest lap of this session with me leading was a 2:43.3.

Overall another great day, and I just continue to be impressed with the capabilities of this car on the track.

I'd assume you are a member there?

We have a track here in Indiana that's private but the membership dues are insane...

Anywho, good work and keep having fun!

The sound of your exhaust is addicting. Do you drive manual or S+?
Looks like you have your windows down right as well?

Yup, all tracks ive ever been to require having the windows down so you dont have to worry about lowering them when u want to give a point by to someone that's faster coming up behind you. I drive the car in manual, have yet to try it in S+ on the track but have used it on the street and think its phenominal...and yeah i love the exhaust too; the audio is from the rear facing camera that i had; the one on the side picks up a little too much wind noise.

You can thank the guys at MHP who just retuned my car for that; I was amazed with how fast it was shifting as well, as i had just gotten the car retuned two days before the event.

I'm actually not a member; just like your track there, the membership fees at this one are insane as well(the lowest membership is $40,000 initiation + $3,450 yearly), but ive gotten to do several private track days at this track in the last few years...just gotten lucky with that i guess.
