That P word

Am thinking about trading the C63 in on the 2013 Carrera S. Anyone here had/has one that could provide me with some guidance, advice or any other words of wisdom?
Any tidbits would be very welcome.

I've tried the Cayman a few times, the engine noise is a bit annoying! So the Carrera would be the same because of the engine location at the rear of the car. Maybe testing it would help you decide, good luck!

Harold I think it's a down grade but a 997 will be ur ultimate weapon of choice :)

You know how much one of those runs new? Touches $500k drive away with a few options. The Carrera S is circa $290k with a couple of things on it. Going for test drive tomorrow morning. Unless it really grabs me I will stay with the C63.

totally different cars. i have a gt3 and while its amazing for what it's built for, the c63 is a better everyday car. what are you planning to do with it? use it everyday or on the weekends for short drives?

Its funny when someone asks about a car- others toss out a car that is in a completely different price range... its easy spending other peoples money LOL.

I have test driven both the C2S and 4S at length. The chassis advancement is enormous along with the interior luxury and exterior looks IMHO. The car is going to be completely different than a C63 in regards to driveability. The P car relies on gearing, transmission, weight, and a higher rev'ing engine to get the job done. I personally love this type of driver; an 8/10ths or more machine. Yet the car is quite docile when you just want to cruise around. I was able to run the test car up to 140 mph and it moves but the feel is one of high rpm hp vs brutal tq thrust that the AMG provides. Id liken the car to the M3 more in this regard.

I was able to test it on several canyon roads and the car just goes where you want when you want. This was a C2S and the 4S probably does it even better. The steering is on point and has taken away alot of the front end chatter that a rear/mid engine chassis creates. The braking is face in the glass style and the pedal grabs very nicely. The engine was moved forward vs the previous 911 iterations and the balance can be felt.

Im not sure about performance numbers but the cars do put up pretty good 0-60 numbers and 1/4 mile traps; it just does it in a different manner than does a C63. I only have a C63 Black to compare it to so that is probably not fair. But the track tests show the C2S is formidable even against the Black (I think the Lightning Lap).

Its a good car; Im considering one for the hell of it :)

well I drove the S this morning and Vic you are spot on. As you toodle around town in the traffic, if you put your foot down quickly the first thing you notice is how instantly it changes gear. Secondly the revs jump up, thirdly, you are going nowhere, relatively speaking. After a little while (probably a second only but it felt much more to me) the thing picks itself up and starts to accelerate and I am sure if you keep going it would blow the C63 away. Unusually, when I got back in my car and took off I thought "wow, this is much better". Now before you keel haul me please consider i am 63 and I use the car as a daily driver and my drive is predominately in 60 km/h. the C63 is so instant on demand and I still love the V8 sound. I am equally sure if you put it on a track or a long winding road we would not see which way it went. I will think about it for a couple of days but my knee jerk reaction is to stick with the C63. To be honest, I went there with the intention of buying one so I ended up a bit disappointed. I would also say this is only my opinion and it does not relate to anyone else and their thoughts.
