Black out Front grill and chrome trim
Hey guys,
Thinking of blacking out the front grill and the chrome trim around the windows and back of trunk.
Can anyone whos done this please advise and or give tips on going about this? I assume they wrapped the chrome trim with a film, how much did it cost? Is it better to have a shop do it?
Thanks

You can get this 3M Vinyl tape to do the window trim and front grill but the vinyl won't cover the star. its very easy to do it

The chrome trim on the top of the windows is curved. For those who did it themselves, how did you manage to apply the tape to the curved trim? Blow dryer? How hard was it?
Also, which is the better tape, shadowline trim or the 3M tape posted above?

Sorry for the crappy pic but its too late at night to be looking for better. Kinda partial to the 'floating star' myself. Just did the middle bars of the grill. Plastidip. Looks good, lasts real well.

For those of you that just want to do the fins (floating look), they slide right off (slide away from the star). And you can take your time wrapping them in vinyl, which lasts and looks better than plastidip imo.

Pop the trim complete off. It way easier work it on a flat surface. The 3M tape is wide enough to put it on flat then fold it over the edges and trim off the excess. Get a sowing needle to pop any bubbles and a credit card to smooth the surface out.
