E63 AMG
Almost drove home in a 2014 507 C63 today
Went to the dealer to get Service A on my 2011 E63 AMG and almost ended up with a 2014 C63 AMG edition 507 in magno platinum matte finish. Just couldn't justify going from an E class to the C class although the C sure was fun to drive! Anyone here go from an E63 to a C63? If so, any thoughts?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I haven't made the switch but I suppose you could justify the switch based upon the fact you would be getting a "fresher" looking car as the face-lifted C63 (especially the 507) is in its prime whereas the E63 has been given a radical facelift (let's face it, it's basically a complete redesign as far as the exterior is concerned).
That said, the 2011 E63 is a fine, fine automobile. Good luck with your decision. You can't lose.

E63 AMG
The ride was tighter in the C class. More narrow seats/bolsters. Lose some of the amenities the E class offers. I like the new lower front bumper in the `14 E 63 but I am not a big fan of the grille. I like the classic Mercedes grill with the emblem, personally. The mango platinum matte finish on the C seems like it would hide dust/fingerprints easier than my Obsidian Black E63. Like the fact you only have to use Wash and Sealant (versus polish, wax, spray detailer, etc.). I guess I will keep thinking about it.... until then, I will keep enjoying my E63 and the hand built 6.2 L V8 (it's a shame they went to a 5.5L bi-turbo to meet EPA recommendations).

Assuming it was a sedan? I have a W211 E320 cdi sedan; my 507 is a coupe (I wated a sportscar). The c-class sedan is a great car but I just see too many of them. I see 50+ c-class sedans for every C-coupe; probably 10 for every W212 e-class. I understand your resistance to moving down the MB-class ladder. Your E63 is the last of its kind as well. I'm not sure how much you gain in performance vs. how much you loose in $$, space, perception. I also like (now miss) the classic look of having a star hood ornament on the sedans (The new "luxury/classic look" on the 2014 e-class isn't my taste and I would opt for the sport grill unfortunately). I also like the AWD of the new E63 so if I wanted 4 door (or wagon) rocket the E63s would be a better choice for a year round car; my 507 coupe woln't see snow or bad weather.
