C63 seat lumbar support problem

Hi there, new member here with a C63!

I have noticed that the 3 buttons on the inner of either seat which control lumbar support and the side bolsters is not working on either seat.

I have replaced a blown 5amp fuse labelled as "neck-pro" and upon pressing the buttons nothing happens, but shortly after the fuse is blown again.

I have been told on the UK forums this sounds like a short in the seat, has anyone else experienced this issue and know where to start?

Thanks

My car had the same issue after I took it in to my local dealer they rewired the seat, which did not work so they had to order a new unit from germany.

Ah, doesn't sound too promising, bearing in mind my car is out of warranty now!

A couple of members on the other forum only had their car in for a day or two, and was told 'a wire had chafed in the seat and was shorting, we replaced said wire' so wondered if anyone had experienced the same and could tell me which wire...hopefully!

Would this sort of fault trigger an error message on the dash?

Okay one question did you replace the fuse box(Sam unit) located in the rear of your car ? Mine blew up and mercedes replaced it and after that my seats didn't work, my dealer told me the seat needed modification they did that but that ended up blowing the fuses so it really didn't work. They ended up ordering a new electrical unit for the seat. I hope yours is not similar because if it is my dealer had quoted me around 2k for this fix !!! Luckily I still have a warranty so they covered it.

Hi mate, yeah I did in fact have the rear SAM replaced, however the fault did occur beforehand, maybe it's worth going back and saying that it did work beforehand?

I'll see where it gets me, if not I can live without the adjustment, I'd rather have them though given the choice!

Thanks for the heads up
