WTF MBUSA????? They wont' help me with my updated folding mirrors!!!!

I get a call back this week, and my advisor is saying Mercedes wants invoices or part numbers or some crap before they proceed because people are getting these from "Europe" and some other BS (couldn't make it out too well).
WTF MB??? Anyone know what I should do? Try another dealer or would they have already flagged my VIN? I don't know why they can't do this to begin with....should I try an independent MB tech?
I'm really frustrated here. If I knew I wouldn't have been able to get these to fold, I wouldn't have spent the $$$ just for the looks.
Thanks in advance!

As far as i see the mirrors are very similar.
So basically they are not authorized to do it?
Well if you have a good relation with your SA or a tech they should explain you in details and tell you the truth.

Anyhow, MAtt can't gimme the part numbers and they are already installed...this is BS

My 2010 Canadian model has folding mirrors but no puddle lights. Probably the same deal as European mirrors as far as MBUSA is concerned.
If you can find a 2008 for sale online you can get the VIN# or a 2010 as far as that is concerned.

Honestly i don't see what having part numbers will change for MBUSA.

Now to get the mirrors working the option needs to be programmed i guess. What i understand is nowadays everything is VIN related therefore dealers are limited.
With the new Xentry diagnostic system, most features will need the option "code" to be entered into the MBUSA database called Vedoc. Only after when the option is in Vedoc, the proper software will be made available for your car/vin. You then can update the software in your door control units.
Ofcourse, I could be all wrong, don't quote me

For those wondering 2009 did not come with folding mirror option (2008s yes, 2009 no, 2010 + yes)
For 2009s you will need the new door switch too with folding button.
"Here's his latest instructions (w/c I'm just going to print and show the dealer):
the switch requires version coding...the mercedes dealership has to
enter the car with stardiagnose...and as soon as the stardiagnose
enters the car it comes up with several menu choices - they have to
choose the one that mentions retrofits of factory options...that menu
will automatically go online, the tech has to enter his/her login
data, then (s)he has to add optioncode 500 to the car's datacard and
once that is done and stored, (s)he has to flash the central gateway
and instrument cluster with (online) stardiagnose"
hope this helps CPD SLK

OP, those mirrors looks x1000 time than the old mirrors as is. Making them fold was a bonus. Rock them as is, they were priced much cheaper than the stealer ship & they came pre-painted.

But Matt was cool enough to gimme a cool price and help me as much as possible so far...I took the door triangular panel off and got the part numbers, but wasn't able to get a hold of the service advisor today, so now have to wait til 12/4/13 til he gets back from vacation...I'm pretty pissed...
My car didn't come with folding mirrors, which is why I need the reprogram. All my research showed it wouldn't be a problem...for instance, this thread:

I don't know why I'm getting BS...This dealer is supposed to do the coding for free after getting the update from Benz...if I go to another dealer, I'd have to risk spending more money and it might not work...argh! Anyone in the bay area have this done by a dealer and get mirrors from Matt????

From the beginning I told Ameet that an MB dealer is not the right place to go.
An indy MB shop was the best solution.
I hope the guys at MB do their job and works this out.
