anyone know what this group of wires is?

so it's that time of year. i hooked up a battery tender to my car since i won't be driving it very much.

for the positive, there was an unused post in the charge block under the hood. for the negative i used the ground post on the strut tower. it has a 13mm body colored nut on it. connected to that is a silver ring terminal with a bunch of wires soldered to that, all insulated with clear shrink.

anyone know what that group of wires is for? it's highlighted with the pink arrows in the pic. i noticed that the nut had been removed before at least a couple times given the condition of the paint on it. my car had one owner prior to me and he only put 1200 miles on it so who knows why it was removed, maybe something for the CPO process.

thanks.

My ground location has never been touched and seems to be the same as yours. It seems to be a common ground location for several items. I did not bother to follow them back to their source.

You should be using the copper colored ground post by the coolant reservoir, in front of the strut tower, for your battery tender.

thanks. i looked into it a little further and a while back i had a TPMS main unit ground issue. i know it's in the back, but i'm thinking they might have disconnected the batteries in the front and the back to work on the car. not sure. i can't figure out why else that would have been manipulated.

yeah, if i was using alligator clamps i'd definitely use the positive jump blade thing on that underhood block and the ground post on the fender well but i don't have the clamps and used the permanent connector with the ring terminals instead. same difference, really, just one is permanent. with such a light current trickle i'm not worried.

my friend in parts said if i remind him on Monday he can check with the techs.
