Exhaust Valves Always Open Mod
Has anyone tried to trick the valvetronic exhaust into leaving the valves open all the time? My 507 is leased, so I cannot change the exhaust....... Does anyone know how these valves are actuated? Is there an actual cable I could disconnect or an electrical circuit that I could run a new wire to to keep the valves open?

Not sure how to have them always on in a wide open position, but you can always adjust the TPS box to have them open at a lower RMP. I have the iPE branded ones but I am sure they work the same. Let me know if you need the PDF files.

It might sound quiet from the cabin but trust me. Our cars are reasonably loud. As for changing the exhaust with a lease. You can modify it however you like, it shouldn't void warranty as long as you don't touch the headers. And when your lease is up, you just put everything back to stock.

Absolutely not - headers are not that bad an install, make a world of difference in power, and give the car an incredible sound. As nice as they sound stock I agree too quiet. With headers now I start my car and… the neighbors are awake lol I want to delete the resonator for a touch more/different sound but don't want to cut my exhaust cause I'm a lease too, just do the mods sooner and you will really get to enjoy your car

How come the car sounds mean-er when it is first started when it has been cold and sitting for a few days. Then after driving around and then re-starting it slightly warm, it doesn't sound as mean anymore?

If I were to do one exhaust mod for example deleting resonator, putting x pipe etc etc, what would you guys recommend? Remember the goal is to keep the AMG bark but just make it a little louder and have more pronounced and frequent throttle blips when downshifting. What are your suggestions?
I've always stayed away from chopping up the exhaust system with the fear of ruining my warranty but if I were to do one thing to get the above goal, what should it be?
Thanks

The car uses secondary air injection when the oil temp is below 90F IIRC. That's what makes cold start have that sweet, sweet bark. I scared myself yesterday. Hadn't started the car in about a week and the car roared to life in my garage with the windows open! I forgot how loud it is outside during a cold start. Can't wait to get headers!

I just purchased this from Germany. It allows you to control the valves independently from the car.
So I have it set to start everytime with valves open and they don't shut automatically anymore like stock.
I will be doing a post about this but it is too damn cold here in New endgland to be working on my car
