Hey all

I'm considering doing longtubes, and have some questions for those of you in this state (CA) that have them. If those of you who do can PM me, that'd be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I think most people just pay someone off for inspection and emissions. If that was what you were asking....why dont you just post your questions and whoever knows can answer lol

Not all of us have diplomat plates PMs are more discreet.

My questions are regarding whether anyone is using O2 sims or has taken care of any lack of cats/O2 sensor issues via a tune? In CA there is a new smog process apparently (no more sniffer...just all done via computer...just want to know how that works from people that have done it first hand).

Ultimately you have to pass the visual. some get a cursory inspection but my last visual took 45 mins and the tester looked at EVERYTHING. CA DMV are *****s. How do I know that? Because the guy that used to test my cars gave me the lowdown on what they are doing "behind the scenes." It's not pretty and it'll get worse over time.

Ugh....wow..45 minutes....friggin aholes...I take it you're all stock? Or do you have any exhaust mods? How did the rest of the test go? They just plug a scanner into your OBD2 port? Does having a tune matter?

Different car and no exhaust mods since the car has OE tubular headers. Even the OBD2 scan seemed to take a while, IIRC the whole test took an hour and twenty minutes. Crazy. Having a tune shouldn't matter, tuners know what's involved and tune around that.

The tune will be fine if it is done so all the readiness monitors will set and there are no codes present that have not been corrected.
