I did It!
Hey all,
I pulled the trigger and purchased one of only three 2013 C63 AMG sedans that I could find that were new. This particular AMG has all of the options except for the illuminated door sills (so what!) and, yes, includes the P31 package and LSD. What a freaking awesome ride this is. With only 43 miles on it, it is already showing how fearsome it is. I have not really hit it hard as I want to break it in properly and not cause any issues that may arise from abusing it. It is polar white with the porcelain interior, carbon fiber spoiler and interior trim parts. Boy, the dealership would not cut much off of the price due to the rarity of the sedan at this point but I managed to get $1k off and a discount on the extended warranty. They also gave me $1500 above what I owed on my 2012 Lexus IS F that I traded in for the AMG. So, not a great deal but I have what I believe to be one of the greatest German hotrods around and it is also one of the last of the 6.2L too. I am HAPPY!

Thanks brother! I have done things in the past where I think "geez was this really a good idea or thing to do?" But in this instance, as when my wife and I bought our current home the feeling is great with no regrets.

Congratulations Stratman! I've got a 2013 Polar White Coupe. Salesman talked me into the color (I originally wanted Black); but really glad I went with white. Nice options you've taken. You should be warned that smile on your face will only get wider as time goes on...

Congrats! Now that I know you just bought one, I think I'll buy some Michelin stock. I see you spending a lot of money there in the future...lol

Congrats! Curious to hear what made you want to move on to a C63 from an ISF & how does it compare?

Thanks to one and all. I kind of suck at putting in the quotes and answering all of them so I hope all understand. Anyway, the reason I traded the IS F is simply that I had always admired the C63. I've only seen maybe three in my area (San Clemente, CA) but they just sounded so good that I started researching them and liked what I saw and read. I also lurked on this site and got a good idea of what to expect as far as reliability, modding and maintenance. Now the IS F is a great car unto itself and I actually had an '09 CPO before the '12 which I bought new. The F comes loaded and is pretty quick (0-60 in 4.5 Sec) and I averaged 19.3 mpg and, once warmed up, I drove in manual mode. One thing that was annoying though was the lag when getting on it. this occurred unless the rpm was over about 3000. Plus Lexus never upped the HP through the years though they did a great job with the suspension revisions starting in 2011. Though a very nice ride, the C63 is just flat out better and feels more solid though the F had zero rattles or stuff falling apart. And the engine: hand built with an awesome exhaust, the one piece body. I could go on but you guys already know these things. Though some are getting a little over 400 RWHP all of the mods are illegal and in CA that is a big issue. So, in the end the C63 AMG won out and the IS F will probably be auctioned off. I know that whoever gets it is going to get a great example as it is super clean with <9000 miles on the clock. Sometimes we just have to do things that may seem irrational but to the person doing it, it all makes sense (or just makes you HAPPY).

Sounds like you already knew what you were getting into when looking into the C63.
The best way I can describe the C63 - Its Like a Great White Shark wearing a top hat. Its really quite visceral, the car has many personalities. The grunt is out of this world, and to think that its coming from this relatively small un-assuming sedan is what puts a smile on my face every time!
Enjoy your new car, and welcome to the family!

Congrats! I obviously love the C63 and everything to do with it. But sometimes I wish it was more attention seeking and that it turned more heads! I know some people like the subtle aspect of it, but I wish it was a little more 'vociferous' in terms of the looks so to speak, like the M3's to me seem like!

Congrats on your c63 purchase! Looks like you've done your research and know what you will be getting yourself into. Lets see some pictures and any plans for mods?
