AMS vs Weistec tune

Very simple, which is the better tune overall? I find AMS is much more experienced in fast cars but Weistec might be more experienced in this platform?

Hey don't leave out Eurocharged and OE. Weistec is good but you have to send your ECU out. OE and EC give you the opportunity to flash yourself and flash back to stock or change between multiple tunes (93 octane, race gas, valet, etc)

a car
I have Weistec's tune on my personal C63 and Chris Black touching almost every GTR in my shop

Both extremely reputable companies and I wouldn't hesitate having Chris tune my AMG's either.

I guess it comes down to your ultimate goals for the car overall but either one is a safe bet.

The comparison should be between dyno tune, not generic tunes.

I would say weistec is very MB oriented so they know for sure what they are doing. AMS is more reputable among GTR owners.
So without looking at dyno numbers and technicalities i would choose Weistec. Now as already mentioned both are reliable companies.
Choice is yours

Sorry again newbie question. This handheld flash, is it as good as the Cobb? Can you datalog with it? For this handheld flash is it as good as sending your ECU in for a flash?

Fair enough.

But has anyone compared the tunes, i.e drivability, power, etc?

For the C63 is it purely the engine tune or do people flash their TCM's as well?

Has anyone had trouble with the tunes from either company on this platform? I quite trust Chris Black @ AMS as I know what he can do on the GTR platform. Who is the tuner for Weistec?

Agree, except it would be impossible to dyno tune in person for either company as I'm overseas.

Can this car be data logged and etuned?

Is your Weistec tune a custom tune or a generic flash?

My C63 AMG Wagon is my family beater / DD. I'll probably do an Akra exhaust, a tune, and headers max. I don't want my C63 to become obnoxiously loud so I may or may not do headers. My 4.4 Alpha 12 is for the kill.

We here at RENNtech have a very ECU tune for the C63 as well. We have been tuning AMG cars for 25 years now. Below is a link to our site and some info about our tune. We also have a host of other mods like Carbon Fiber Air Box, Headers, exhaust and Throttle Bodies

RENNtech has been at the forefront of ECU tuning since electronic engine management started to show up in vehicles during the mid 1980's! Our experience, countless hours of in house research, development and exhaustive testing ensure that our proprietary ECU upgrade offers incredible performance gains and rock solid daily driver reliability.
RENNtech tuning software for Mercedes offers significant gains in horsepower and torque across the vehicles entire power band.
