Anyone else 3rd to 4th gear slip before engagement?
Shifting in my 2010 C63 from 3rd to 4th it does not seem to engage into 4th right away. What happens is it shifts to 4th, the RPM goes up maybe 300-400rpm and then it will engage the gear and drop the rpm down. It is almost like the clutch is slipping. This only happens to me in C or S mode with about 30-50% throttle. The more throttle seems to make it slip more before it engages...
I took my car into the dealer today and had them look at it and I documented this possible issue to protect myself.
Anyone else have this?? Im not to worried about it, the car drives fine. Was just curious.

I will check with my dealer about the transmission software.
Anyone else experience this? It happens to my car every time it shifts now from 3rd to 4th. More throttle the more slip it creates. I might post up a video of it later.

Yes. Resetting the adaptation will be the first thing they try. If that doesn't work, a repair is in order. If you're still on warranty, don't delay. Slippage often indicates a new transmission.
You want any needed work to be done before the warranty expires. Reporting it is not enough unless you want to get lawyers involved.

I will go to the dealer and show them this again and hopefully a tranny reset will fix it.
I noticed today it does slip at WOT also when it shifts to 4th.
Anyway thanks

You will probably want to reach out to your tuner and have the car returned to stock before you go to the dealer.
This will be an instance where they will deny warranty claim as a tune can and does directly affect the transmission.

Is that a part throttle shift or wot?
Are you in Edmonton?
It would only slip under full throttle. If you do lots of burnouts while shifting gears, that will cook the clutches in a hurry.
If that's part throttle you need to reset adaption.
That doesn't look like slip to me. Mine was slipping with the blower when it wasn't built. Id go wot and shift into third or fourth and it would redline and the car wouldn't move.

Yeah thats part throttle. about 30-40% throttle.
No im in Calgary (Go flames)
Yes at WOT it does not "slip" per say. Once the 4th gear is in, it holds the power no problem.
I am also leaning toward this being a software issue.

Calgary!! Let me know if they actually have it available. I think dealers in Calgary is restarted, they don't even know how to do a COMMAND software update...

If the adaptation fixes it great, but you need to let the dealer do whatever it needs. That's real slippage and it generally gets worse fast.

valve body or clutch problem. adaptations wont fix that. mine sort of does that 2-3 at full throttle but i have a supercharger. Im replacing the clutches next week

We might be confusing two kinds of clutches. Slippage can be one of the three one-way clutch elements that work with the brake elements (bands) to select a gear. Then there's the lock-up clutch in the old transmission or MCT clutch pack in the new transmission. They can both result in slipping but just one upshift sounds more like a clutch element or its actuator.

Yes take pics
Mine has been slipping for a while here and there, and on 2 separate occasions (even though the dealer found nothing wrong and did nothing), I hit the gas and the car did not move and bounced off the red line. Yes the car was in gear and not neutral.
Car is now out of warranty

So I put the car back to stock just now. My "slip" problem is not at bad as it is with a tune. Very weird. The slip is still there stock but it is about 50% less slipping. I use eurocharged V5 by the way.
Il keep you guys updated when I get this fixed.

ill be replacing the K1 clutch pack at the minimum. Once I finally get it torn apart i'll see what else is crapped out. Fluid is only 2k miles old and smells a little crispy. Valve body is going to get sent off while the car is down. Been slammed with other stuff but atleast got the valve body off. With any luck ill get the motor and trans out tomorrow.

Of course it could be the solenoid (in the valve body) that actuates it. But worn clutch disks are the most straightforward cause.

That aint right. There is no way that is an adaptation issue. Take it in. Do not pass go, and I am sorry to say..... do not collect $200. Seriously though, that seems like the kind of thing that gets worse before it gets better so better head 'er.
