Eurocharged V5 tune *blip mod*
OH MY GOD are the blips aggressive!
Just a standard downshift from 3rd to 2nd at 3000 rpms results in blipping to 4000rpms and resulting in a "brraaaap" from the exhaust.
Usually you don't get the "braaap" unless you downshift to 1st, but you now get it downshifting to any gear.
It mentally makes me feel like it downshifts slower because it's opening up the throttle more before engaging the lower gear and I guess time will tell if I dislike that.
Good thing I have an extended warranty because I'm going to be abusing the transmission downshifting everywhere I go

They don't really "announce" updates. If you read the Eurocharged tuner sale you would know the new tuners are shipping with V5.
Send your original tune file to sales@eurocharged.com and request a V5.

Since this is the only thing that is different from v4 to v5 tune I have to ask is this just for sound effect or does it actually increase the speed of the shifts like some have stated? are shifts faster up and down or just down?

For this reason, the total shift can be programmed to proceed faster. This is especially important in MCT or DCT transmissions because they don't have a torque convertor to help absorb jolts. In fact, the multi- or dual-clutches have an easier job if input and output components are rev-matched.
It's most important in a true DCT transmission because it is really an automated manual transmission and without "double-clutching" the synchronizers' friction material will slow the shift considerably as it dissipates heat.
That said, I'm not sure what the blipping does in a torque-convertor transmission. That's not to say it doesn't have benefits, it's just that I don't know enough about how it works. It would be great if Eurocharged could point us to some more technical description.

Without looking at gear ratios
Lets say 30 mph
1st gear 3000 rpm
2nd gear 2200 rpm
When down shifting you want to get close to 3000 maybe a bit lower
That way no shock, no wheel lurch/ traction loss etc
Smooth
Now say you match at 3500
You'll have slip and the engine speed has to be drug down to match road speed
Compression braking and more noise etc
Pretty much same effect if you went to 2500
Both scenarios engine is retarding motion and compression braking

just sport+ and manual...not in normal modes...1st/2nd gear screams insanely loud now when you down shift and the revs and shifts seem to be a lot smoother actually...too me the transmission almost seems more "Freed" up if that even makes sense, seems to only rev up like 500-1500 RPM maybe when you down shift...unless it's 2nd it's like 5,000 rpm i swear ...Pretty sure V5 has a bit more HP also or something..takes off a lot quicker then V4
