Wear a damn helmet.. seriously, WTF people (yes I know some states don't require one)..

Even dumber, I see passengers wearing full face helmets while the rider has no helmet (here in Indy).. one hard brake and your passenger is going to head butt the back of your head with a helmet... thats even more dumb than no helmets all together..

Sorry, I went down wearing helmet and full riding gear back in 2005, and walked away without a scratch (my Gixxer 600 did not fair so well and was a write off). My wife also had a bicycle accident, while wearing a helmet, and fractured her skull, broke her eye socket, concussion and stitches, and she was not even moving fast (4 or 5 mph) on a trail... seriously.. wear a damn helmet..

/rant and preaching over :)

I unfortunately gave up motorcycle riding after moving to the DC metro area. I miss them every day it is above 40 degrees but have found a good solution. I bought a Fiat Abarth that with about 5k worth of modifications is well over 200hp and handles amazingly well. It is great on the track, looks stock, cheap to own and shocks the hell out of people who try to race me.

Motorcycles are a great thrill. Loved them. The key word is "LoveD". Never again. I like life. Way too easy to die no matter how good you are.

A little different perspective...

I used to own/ride multiple crotch rockets. I finally broke down and bought a brand new 2012 BMW R 1200 RT in early 2012 and rode it for 18 months. It too prompted me to ride too fast, b/c it's just one heck of a bike!

In the fall of 2013, I reluctantly sold it and bought a brand new left over 2013 H-D Electra Glide Classic (FLHTC). Since I've owned this bike, I've never had it over 80 mph on the highway. I just putz around on side roads, never exceeding the bikes limits or my riding capabilities.

Moral of the story for me; I had to buy a geezer glide in order to force me to slow down.

It worked:D

Cheers/BB
