I just happened to notice this because I was putting some drilled/slotted rotors on my other car…

Shouldn't half be on backwards anyways for when you drive in reverse??? JK, sorry, couldn't resist. Are they really, truly backwards though? I haven't looked at them yet but I imagine that it's done as suggested due to commonality of parts, but also they'll engineer this into the parts knowing this is to be expected. What rotors are you putting on?

Yeah, I'd imagine that directional rotors which can better maintain airflow and reduce temps would be better. So with our uniform "cheapos" we'll just see increased brake fade quicker than those with directional setups, but then we should also consider caliper size, vehicle size, etc. I'd care more if I was on the track, probably, but it's certainly interesting.

Curious. I went out after reading this and looked at my 111 C63 there are right side and left side rotors it appears as to direction of slots and holes.

haha. I installed powerstop drilled and slotted directional rotors on my Sienna.
